Canadian Judge Describes Sharia Killings as 'Twisted Concept of Honor'

As Muslim families continue to immigrate into the western world, the conflict between local and national laws versus Islamic Sharia law heats up. In the United States, several courts have upheld Sharia law over state and federal laws.

In Canada, this conflict was waged in an Ontario court where Afghan immigrants Mohammad Shafia (58), his wife Tooba Yahya (42) and son Hamed (21) were charged with murdering Shafia’s three daughters and first wife. Daughters Zainab (19), Sahar (17), Geeti (13) and first wife Rona Amir Mohammad (52) were found in a car that was submerged in a local canal. Shafia’s second wife Yahya was the mother of son Hamed and the three daughters.

The parents and son claim that the three girls and former wife, who was still living with the family, accidentally drove into the canal while joy riding in the car. Hamed told the court that he witnessed the accident, however he never called police for help.

The prosecution presented a case indicating that all four victims were drowned nearby, their bodies placed into the car which was then pushed into the canal. The motive for killings were the dishonor the four females brought to the family due to their rebellion against the family rules on dating, how to dress, socializing and their internet activities.

Prosecutor Gerard Laarhuis presented evidence that Shafia was extremely domineering. When he made his frequent business trips to Dubai, son Hamed was known to administer harsh discipline on his sisters.

Nineteen year old Zainab was forbidden to attend school for a full year when her father found out that she had a Pakistani-Canadian boyfriend. At one point, Zianab feared her father to the point of fleeing to a shelter for protection.

Middle daughter, seventeen year old Sahar had a Christian boyfriend that she kept secret from her father, until her parents discovered photos of her wearing a short skirt and embracing her secret boyfriend. They also found several condoms hidden in her bedroom.

Youngest daughter Geeti told school officials that she wanted to be placed in foster care because of the circumstances in her home. She started skipping classes and failing school as well as wearing provocative clothing.

First wife Mohammad wrote in her diary how Shafia’s second wife treated her as a lowly servant and that he would often beat her. In one excerpt that was read in court, she had described that Shafia “made life a torture.”

According to Sharia law, all three of the daughters had brought dishonor and disgrace to the entire household and thus warranted their deaths via an honor killing. The family denied that this was an honor killing and stuck to their defense of it being a tragic accident. Having been granted permission to wiretap the family’s telephone and cell phones, the prosecution presented taped calls that clearly indicated the deaths were honor killings. Within those taped calls Shafia called his daughters whores and treacherous. At one point he invoked the devil to defecate on their graves.

In what could have been the final nail in the coffin was one particular taped call where Shafia said,

“There can be no betrayal, no treachery, no violation more than this. Even if they hoist me up onto the gallows … nothing is more dear to me than my honor.”

The Canadian jury deliberated for fifteen hours before rendering the verdict of guilty on four counts of premeditated murder against all three defendants. Canadian law prescribes that any conviction of first degree murder carries with it a mandatory life sentence with no chance of parole for a minimum of 25 years.

After the jury rendered their verdict, Judge Robert Maranger contended that the jury made the right decision based upon the evidence and then told the family that their conviction was for “the planned and deliberate murder of four members of your family.”

Judge Maranger went to address the family and court telling them,

“It is difficult to conceive of a more despicable, more heinous crime … the apparent reason behind these cold-blooded, shameful murders was that the four completely innocent victims offended your completely twisted concept of honor … that has absolutely no place in any civilized society.”

Gerard Laarhuis, who prosecuted the case against the Afghan family told a crowd outside the courthouse,

“This verdict sends a very clear message about our Canadian values and the core principles in a free and democratic society that all Canadians enjoy and even visitors to Canada enjoy.”

I can only hope and pray that American juries and courts have the same courage and moral conviction to render decisions based upon the local and national laws and not play into the hands of Muslims who are bent on turning our legal system into one based upon Sharia law. As for my personal opinion, if they want to be ruled by Sharia law then let them go to a country that follows that cruel and inhumane system and stop trying to change our system, which already has enough problems of its own.

The U.S. embassy in Oslo, Norway is warning U.S. citizens in Oslo to stay inside at night and to take extra care when going outside. Unfortunately, it doesn’t warn them about who they should be looking out for. To the casual reader of the notice one would believe that the Norwegians are very violent, but wait a minute.

In 2010 there were 24 rapes and as of October of 2011 there were 48 rapes and a reported 60 rapes by the end of the year. Alerts are being put out to be on guard for “non -western looking men.” And recent attackers of a 17 year old girl were described as, “dark skinned and round of face.”

U.S. had knowledge of Pearl Harbor attack in 1941, and did nothing

Below are two separate articles about the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. The first was published by The New American. It concludes that there is substantial evidence indicating that Roosevelt and others knew and in fact did what they could to instigate an attack upon the U.S. in order to bring the U.S. into war. During this time, the majority of Americans were against a war with Germany and any alliance with Communist Russia.

The second article was published by the Telegraph. It cites a memo that shows FDR knew of credible evidence that an attack was impending. However, the author of a book, who first uncovered the memo, does not believe that FDR knew of the attack, but rather inept officials ignored intelligence reports and failed miserably to connect the dots. Both stories highlight situations that many say relate to current arguments surrounding 9/11. Were governmental leaders instrumental in the attacks or just incompetent.

Mainstream Media Ignores the Arrest of Dr. David Duke in Germany.

Dr. David Duke was invited by German patriots to give a speech in the city of Cologne. He was arrested before he could say one word and has been held in isolation since Friday (but is now free) pending resolution of charges in court at a later date.

Now let’s alter this scenario a little bit. Instead of a pro-White activist, let’s say a pro-Black activist, Jesse Jackson had been visiting Europe to organize the many recent African immigrants in Europe into a voting block. Let’s say Jackson stepped off an airplane in Cologne and before he could give a scheduled speech, he was surrounded by submachine-gun-toting policemen and hauled off to a prison as if he were a serious criminal, who had been robbing banks.

To make matters worse, let’s say the German police held Jackson with little -if any- communication with his friends and family. Under those circumstances, the mainstream media would let out howls of rage over the brutal police state tactics and the lack of freedom in the so-called “Republic” of Germany. The US government would similarly react in outrage and begin threatening Germany with sanctions if they failed to immediately release the US citizen or if they ever repeated such tyrannical actions against a US citizen in the future.

This is how the US and the mainstream media would have reacted if Jesse Jackson or some other politically correct activist were arrested in Europe just before he could give a speech. Because the person being persecuted was a pro-White advocate, Dr. David Duke, his arrest has so far been ignored by the mainstream media, and the US government remains quiet about this too. This should be a wake-up call that the mainstream media has an anti-White bias and they’re secretly happy to see anyone who is pro-White being persecuted. The US government is supposed to use its power and influence to prevent the abuse of its citizens in foreign lands, but it’s clear that the Obama regime isn’t about to lift a finger to protect someone, whom they hate. They only believe in protecting their socialist and Marxist friends on the far left of the political spectrum.

Dr. David Duke is an internationally known political dissident and his arrest will eventually become known to the American public even if the controlled mainstream media drags its feet in reporting this. Duke’s arrest will only embarrass the German government, which has to use thuggish communist-style oppression to suppress the right-wing, and it will embarrass the US government, which has failed to do anything to help an American wrongly persecuted overseas. This incident will wake up millions of Americans and Europeans, who will listen to David Duke’s speeches on youtube since the Internet allows the sort of free speech that left-wing tyrants would ban.

Official S. 723 cosponsor list Rasmussen Reports recently published a poll that shows more voters than ever, are opposed to granting automatic U.S. citizenship to a child born to an illegal immigrant in this country. According to the poll, 65% of Likely U.S. Voters believe that if a woman enters the United States illegally and has a child, that child should not automatically be granted U.S. citizenship.

Currently, the United States and Canada are the only developed nations that grant automatic citizenship to almost all children born within their borders, regardless of whether the parents are citizens, legal residents, temporary visitors, or illegal aliens in the country. The Pew Hispanic Center estimates that eight percent of all U.S. births (350,000/year) come from at least one illegal-alien parent.

Legislation to end birthright citizenship was introduced earlier this year by Representative Steve King of Iowa. The Birthright Citizenship Act (H.R. 140), would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act - not the constitution - to consider a person born in the United States "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States for citizenship at birth purposes if the person is born in the United States of parents, one of whom is: (1) a U.S. citizen or national; (2) a lawful permanent resident alien whose residence is in the United States; or (3) an alien performing active service in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Sheriff Chuck Wright Doesn’t Hold Back

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -- The Spartanburg County Sheriff is known for speaking his mind, and at a news conference on Monday, he didn't hold back his anger and frustration after a woman was attacked in a park over the weekend.
Investigators said 46-year-old Walter Lance grabbed a woman who was walking her dog in Milliken Park on Sunday afternoon. They said Lance choked the woman, made her take off her clothing and tried to rape her.
Lance is in custody and was denied bond on Monday.

Sheriff Chuck Wright opened his news conference by saying, "Our form of justice is not making it."
He said, "Carry a concealed weapon. That'll fix it."
Wright said Lance had been charged numerous times with crimes against women, and other crimes such as resisting arrest and escape. Wright said Lance had been on probation for a federal gun charge.
He referred to Lance repeatedly as an "animal," and expressed his disgust about Lance's long record and the attack.
Wright said Lance has had more than 20 charges dating back to 1983.

Wright said Lance has been in jail more often than he has, and he runs the jail, and he said Lance gets out easier. Wright punctuated it by saying, "And I'm aggravated."
He said he doesn't believe every person needs to be kept in jail, but he said, "I don't think this animal deserves to be out in our society, walking alongside our women."

Wright said,"Liberals call me and tell me the chain-gang form of justice isn't working. Well, let me inform you, your form of justice isn't working either."
He said Lance should not have had the right or opportunity to "violate a good, upstanding woman."
"This is a horrific crime," Wright said. "Her life was threatened so many times."

Walter Lance was denied bond.
He said Lance "doesn't fight police or men folk -- he just goes after women." He said Lance is not married because, "No woman can stay married to him because he beats them down too much." Wright said, "It's too bad someone with a concealed weapons permit didn't walk by. That would fix it." He said people are tired of doing the right thing and criminals getting away with their actions.

He said several times, "I want you to get a concealed weapons permit."
At one point, Wright held up a fanny pack and said, "They make this right here where you can conceal a small pistol in them. They got one called The Judge that shoots a .45 or a .410 shell. You ain't got to be accurate; you just have to get close."
Wright said, "I'm tired of looking at victims saying, 'There's life after this' … I'm tired of saying, 'We're sorry, we can't keep them in jail.'"
Wright said in his view, gun control is, "Is when you can get your barrel back on the target quick. That’s gun control."

Wright said the attack is not the fault of Millken Park. He said, "It's a nice place for families." He said officers patrol the area all the time and respond to various calls there. He said, "Don't blame anyone for having an animal on their property … We can't get it all." He encouraged women to walk in groups, and he ended by saying again, "I want you to get a concealed weapons permit. Don't get Mace. Get a firearm."
And then he said, "I think I better stop before I get sanctioned.

Ready to say pledge allegiance to Mexico?

Students in a Texas public high school were made to stand up and recite the Mexican national anthem and Mexican pledge of allegiance as part of a Spanish class assignment, but the school district maintains there was nothing wrong with the lesson.

It happened last month in an intermediate Spanish class at Achieve Early College High School in McAllen, Texas — a city located about 10 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border.

Wearing red, white and green, students had to memorize the Mexican anthem and pledge and stand up and recite them in individually in front of the class.

That didn’t go over well with sophomore Brenda Brinsdon. The 15-year-old sat down and refused to participate. She also caught it all on video:

It may be early in the campaign season, but the Communist Party USA already has seen fit to endorse Barack Obama for the 2012 election.

While noting he is disappointed with “some aspects” of the Obama administration’s domestic and foreign policy, Sam Webb, chairman of the Communist Party USA, threw his support behind Obama’s re-election bid.

In an article last week at People’s Weekly World, the official newspaper of the Communist Party USA, Webb discussed the need for a third party consisting of the so-called working class and labor as well as “racially and nationally oppressed people, women, youth, immigrants, seniors, gay and straight.”

Webb, however, recognized that such a party is not likely to emerge by next year.

“Millions who have to be at the core of this party still operate under the umbrella of the Democratic Party, albeit increasingly in an independent fashion,” he noted.

Webb said that for communists there are major differences between Democrats and Republicans. He urged his supported to continue to back the Democrats.

Rep. Ron Paul: Bankruptcy could end U.S. debt.

Many Americans are not aware that the Federal Reserve is a private corporation that is not part of the U.S. In fact, it would be as if I created a company and loaned money to the U.S. and they had to pay it back to me with interest. It is unconstitutional as the U.S. Constitution is very specific that Congress is the only branch that can regulate money. And a branch cannot give its powers away. However, that is what has been done here and it's been going on since for approx. 90 years. Rep. Ron Paul is exactly right. Just cancel the debt. That would make America get out of its debt over night, and talking about a revival "economically" in this country. It would be like nothing we have ever seen before. We all should be getting behind Rep. Ron Paul for president. Read below.

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) said Monday that bankruptcy could be the best solution for the United States to address its mounting debt.

Paul, the libertarian Republican presidential candidate, suggested that bankruptcy would be a good option — as would, short of that, refusing to repay obligations to the Federal Reserve.

During an appearance on Iowa's WHO radio, Paul, in a conversation about the debt crisis in Greece, called on that country to declare bankruptcy, reasoning that the Greek debt was insurmountable and thus that the country could not avoid bankruptcy.

"Are we going to experience — are you predicting, in essence, if bankruptcy is the cure for Greece, is it also the cure for the United States?" asked host Jan Mickelson.

"Absolutely," Paul responded.

The Texas congressman has been a longtime critic of fiscal and monetary policy in the U.S. Paul has called for allowing gold and silver currency to compete openly with the U.S. dollar. He said he wasn't dreading the potential default on U.S. debt in early August because, in his view, the U.S. was constantly defaulting due to inflation-related devaluation of the dollar.

One solution, Paul said, would be to eliminate the Federal Reserve, and in turn, wipe out the debts owed to the Fed.

"I know this is pretty strange for people to even think about this — but you know, we owe, like, $1.6 trillion because the Federal Reserve bought that debt, so we have to work hard to pay that interest to the Federal Reserve. They're nobody; why do we have to pay them off?" he asked. "Why don't we just take that away from them and reduce the debt by one and a half trillion dollars or whatever?"
The comments are nothing if not consistent for Paul, who's said that he won't vote to raise the debt limit. He said that he didn't actually expect fellow lawmakers to follow his lead and allow default, but that if the U.S. were to default on its obligations to the Fed, it "might reassure the bondholders."

Speaking in the key primary-cycle state of Iowa, Paul even suggested that the Chinese government had even become more capitalistic than the U.S. government.

"You could make the case today for China being a more capitalistic country than the United States," he said. "That's where our businesses are going; it's easier to start a business."

Embattled New York Rep. Anthony Weiner quit this afternoon, three weeks after the scandal about his Twitter pictures exploded.

The humiliated New York congressman took the stage in his Brooklyn office at 2.21 p.m. to announce the end of his 20-year political career. His news conference was over within four minutes. The fiery left-wing Democrat walked away without answering any questions.

His pregnant wife, Huma Abedin, who had returned yesterday from an overseas trip with her boss, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was noticeably absent. She was spotted entering the couple’s home in the New York borough of Queens shortly before her husband made his announcement.

“I apologize for the personal mistakes I have made and the embarrassment I have caused to my neighbors, my constituents and particularly to my wife, Huma,” Weiner said.

Weiner took time to thank other members of Congress, “Democrats and Republicans alike,” adding, “Now I’ll be looking for other ways to contribute my talents so that we live up to that most New York and American of ideals. The ideal that a family, a community, and ultimately a country is the one thing that unites us.”

Weiner was heckled throughout his statement with crude comments from people who had infiltrated the news conference.

“I had hoped to be able to continue the work that the citizens of my district had elected me to do, to fight for the middle class and those struggling to make it,” Weiner said. “Unfortunately, the distraction I have created has made that impossible.

“Today I am announcing my resignation from Congress, so my colleagues can get back to work, my neighbors can choose a new representative, and most importantly, so that my wife and I can continue to heal from the damage I have caused.”

The 46-year-old congressman bowed to the inevitable after discussing his position with his wife, who returned to their Washington home early on Wednesday morning. He and Abedin have been married for less than a year.

According to ABC News, he informed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of his decision Wednesday night, the day before Democrats were to consider stripping him of his committee assignments.

Leading party members initially said it was up to him whether he should resign, but they changed their position as the scandal grew, with Pelosi and Whip Steny Hoyer both calling on him to step down. President Barack Obama also said that he would quit if he were in Weiner’s position.

Republicans, initially led by House leader Eric Cantor and later joined by Speaker John Boehner, also called on him to resign.

The House Ethics Committee formally opened an investigation to see whether he broke any House rules. That will now end as the committee only has powers over sitting members.

The Democrat’s embarrassing fall from grace over what became known as “Weinergate” brought to an end a sideshow that had embarrassed Congress. It started with a picture of a bulging pair of gray boxer briefs posted on Weiner’s Twitter page. The Democratic congressman had meant to send it to 21-year-old Seattle journalism student Gennette Cordova in a private message but mistyped and it went out to all 45,000 of his followers.

For 10 days he lied, saying his Twitter account had been hacked, before he finally confessed at a tearful news conference June 6 that he had sexted with six different women and lied to cover up his misdeeds. They included a porn star who claimed he had asked her to lie and had offered her public relations help.

He was further embarrassed when an X-rated picture of his genitals that he had sent one of the women was leaked on to the Internet and again when semi-nude pictures he had taken of himself in the House gym emerged.

Last weekend, Weiner, whose district includes parts of Brooklyn and Queens, asked for a leave of absence from the House to enter rehab, but things continued to get worse for him when it was revealed that he also had been sending private messages to a 17-year-old in Delaware. There has been no suggestion that those messages were of a sexual nature.

Weiner is the second New York congressman to resign this year. Married Republican Christopher Lee quit in February after it was revealed he had sent a shirtless picture of to a woman who had posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a man.

The sex scandal that has engulfed married Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner grew even more tawdry today — and generated suggestions that he should quit — amid new allegations that he sent out pictures and sexually explicit text messages to women.

However, Weiner rejected suggestions that he should resign during an emotional news conference this afternoon. He confessed to inappropriate texting and lying about it.

"I have made terrible mistakes," Weiner said, choking back tears and adding that he apologizes to his wife, colleagues, and friends.

One of the pictures that surfaced today showed the bottom half of what appeared to be Weiner’s face above a naked chest. A second, seemingly innocent, shot showing Weiner sitting with his two cats had a caption dripping with double entendre.

But even more damaging to Weiner, who married Hillary Clinton’s long-time aide Huma Abedin in July, are the texts he is accused of sending a middle-aged woman in Nevada.

The combined effect is so great that Ronald Kessler, Newsmax’s chief Washington correspondent, says the New York congressman now should step down from his House seat.

“Representative Weiner has now lost all credibility,” Kessler said. “Can you imagine if George Bush had done anything like this?

“Given that he has engaged in shameful conduct and become a laughingstock, Weiner is left with no choice now but to resign.”

The double whammy could not have come at a worse time for the embattled congressman. The furor over the Memorial Day weekend “bulging shorts” Twitter picture sent to Seattle co-ed Genette Cordova was beginning to fade, and it appeared that he might have weathered the storm.

But now the release of the pictures on conservative journalist Andrew Breitbart’s BigGovernment website, followed almost immediately by the messages on the tabloid site RadarOnline, have reignited the whole issue.

The Nevada woman told Radar that she has about 200 explicit messages from Weiner’s now-closed Facebook account. In one online exchange, Weiner allegedly asked whether she wanted to see “a ridiculous bulge in my shorts,” and then said he was taking pictures of it. However, the woman says Weiner “got cold feet” and did not send the picture.

A second exchange between the woman and the congressman ended when the woman gave out her phone number and suggested that they should talk rather than text. Within minutes, Weiner called and they ended up having phone sex, she said. “We proceeded to talk dirty for at least 30 minutes,” she said.

A few days later, she tried to call on the number that Weiner had used, but got only a recorded message saying it was an outgoing Congress line.

The U.S. Border Patrol has told its agents to stop arresting illegal aliens crossing the border from Mexico to keep the illegal immigration numbers down, Arizona Sheriff Larry Dever tells Newsmax.

He also charges that Attorney General Eric Holder is “holding hands with the ACLU” to protect illegal aliens from prosecution, says illegals are committing “heinous crimes” across America every day, and calls claims that the federal government should be solely responsible for controlling illegal immigration “balderdash.”

Dever is sheriff of Cochise County, which shares an 83-mile border with Mexico, and he says his Border Patrol sector is responsible for half of all illegal aliens caught trying to enter the country and halt the narcotics entering the United States.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, he was asked about the Obama administration’s bragging that the border is more secure than ever.

“For the secretary of homeland security to say the border is more secure than ever, well, I’ve been there forever and there was a happier time than what it is today. We have a long, long way to go.

“Don’t drink the Kool-Aid and buy into 'this border is secure' nonsense.

“There’s a bad element in the mix of the aliens that are crossing that border and they don’t stay there, they move into communities throughout the country. And every day there are travesties and heinous crimes being committed by those people. If we don’t stop it at the border, it’s just going to continue to grow.”

Dever recently told Congress that in one district in Texas, illegals are allowed to be caught crossing the border 14 times before being charged with a felony, and federal smuggling charges are not considered unless at least six illegal aliens are being smuggled into the country.

“It doesn’t surprise me because we’ve been seeing that every day in Arizona, with artificial thresholds for narcotics, for human smuggling,” he tells Newsmax.

“For that to be issued as a written solid order, it’s outrageous.”

He also explains how he has heard that the Border Patrol has told officers to stop arresting Mexican illegals to keep official illegal immigration figures down.

“That comes from agents on the ground, who have told me, told my deputies, told citizens in the area.

“They have in the past been instructed to scare people back or turn them back south versus arresting them.”

Border Patrol Chief Michael Fisher’s has denied that agents have been told not to arrest Mexican illegals. Dever responds: “I tend to believe there is no written order to that effect. But if your agents on the ground have that perception and that understanding, then you need to go back and change it.

“If they’re lying, shame on them, and shame on me for bringing it up. But frankly, my staff, when they heard this, they said what’s the big deal? We’ve been hearing this forever. And people who live in my county say the same things.

“So something’s going on and it needs to be rectified and fixed so these people are brought to justice.”

Dever tells Newsmax that the Mexican drug cartels are freely operating many miles from the U.S.-Mexican border.

“You can go up to 70 miles north in Pinal County, which isn’t even a border county, and the Bureau of Land Management put up signs on public land warning people not to travel there because of the threat from drug cartels.

“If you travel into the recreational areas in my county, those same signs are up warning people they could encounter drug and human smuggling. I think we ought to point the signs south and tell the folks who are coming here that this is not a safe place for you to come.”

Referring to “roadblocks” Eric Holder has been erecting against Arizona’s attempts to deal with the immigration problem, Dever says: “He’s the guy who sued us, sued the state of Arizona, holding hands with the ACLU. It doesn’t do any good to arrest people if all you’re going to do is kick them back. If they’re not going to be prosecuted and held accountable, where’s the teeth in the enforcement effort?”

When Arizona passed its tough anti-illegal immigration legislation last year, the ACLU “sued every Arizona sheriff and every Arizona county attorney independently to enjoin us from enforcing the law should it pass constitutional muster,” Dever adds.

“Then the Department of Justice sued the state of Arizona. Here’s what’s absolutely bizarre and hypocritical: The Department of Homeland Security since Sept. 11, 2001, has been on an outreach effort to empower and partner with state and local law enforcement to help defend and protect our homeland.

“When it comes to gun-running, money-laundering, kidnapping, murder, all those border-related crimes that we have, they wrap their arms around us and say let’s go get these guys. When it comes to illegal immigration, they sue us. They say back off, that is our sole responsibility. And I say balderdash.”

Dever encourages Americans to “keep pressure on your congressional representatives” to deal effectively with illegal immigration. “It’s beginning to work. It’s beginning to take hold.”

White children in the minority in 10 states

For years, the white nationalist movement has been sounding the alarm of America becoming a non-white country, and when that happens, our culture, morality, religion, heritage, and safety will change. Just look at all non-white countries, and they are all third world countries. America is becoming a third world country, especially in our large metropolitan cities. They are no longer safe to drive at night time and many cases even in the day time, especially in certain areas. I wonder what colors those areas are. They definitely are not white areas. With America's white children being the minorities in these 10 states, and other states following, will they be safe? Will they have a future? Will our people have a future? White children are now in the minority among people under 18 in 10 U.S. states and 35 large metro areas, according to a Brookings analysis of 2010 Census data.

The number of white children in metro areas including Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas; Orlando, Florida; and Phoenix, Arizona, fell below that of other children in the last decade as the population of white children nationwide declined by 4.3 million, the report said.

The decline occurred as the number of children identified as "new minorities" – Hispanics, Asians and other racial groups apart from whites, blacks and American Indians – grew by 5.5 million, the report said.

Hispanics registered an increase of 4.8 million, which kept the nation's overall child population from declining, the report said. The findings reflect changes in the racial makeup of the overall U.S. population with Hispanics becoming the nation's largest and fastest growing minority group.

Hispanics now comprise 23% of children, up from 12% in 1990, while whites now comprise just 53% of youth, down from nearly 70% in 1990.

The findings also underscore projections that the country will become "white minority" by 2042 as the race's median age keeps increasing. The child population stands to hit that mark in 2023.

"Slower growth among whites owes in part to their lower fertility rate – about 1.9 births per white woman, compared with 3.0 births per Hispanic woman – as well as a relatively low contribution to population growth from immigration" the report stated.

From 2000 to 2009, only 15% of growth in the immigrant population was attributable to whites, compared with 78% for Hispanics, Asians and other new minorities.

The report also said the aging white population contributes to a lower growth rate because proportionately, fewer white women are in their child-bearing years.

"The median age of whites is 41, compared to 27 for Hispanics, 35 for Asians, and a staggering 20 for the population of more than one race. As a further reflection of these age differences by race and ethnicity, just one-fifth of U.S. whites are under age 18, compared with one-third of all Hispanics."

The study also found that the decline in white children reduced the growth rate of the overall child population, from 13.7% in the 1990s to 2.6% in the 2000s. Though variation from state to state in child growth was considerable, on the whole, 46 states registered declines in their white child populations.

Not surprisingly, most of the states that experienced growth in populations of minority children are the ones where white children are in the minority: California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi and Maryland.

On April 15, 2011, schools across America will allow participants in the Day of Silence to bombard the rest of the student body with an unsettling idea; stand up for homosexuality or share the guilt. And what is this guilt they want the entire student body to bear? They believe that every time a homosexual, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender student commits suicide or uses drugs or alcohol, that it is the fault of a gay hating population. Of course, they neglect to mention that these LGBT youths are mentally unstable in the first place.

Rather than setting these kids free from a burden of abominable sin, the adult perps in the LGBT movement are using children and teens as pawns to legitimize their own behavior and to win legal protections for themselves.

I have seen videos that were used in health classes in the 1950’s that warn kids to be on the lookout for homosexuals and to stay far far away. Now it is more likely that a queer is teaching the health class and in many cases discussing ways to engage in sodomy!”

It is important that the Day of Silence is not ignored. It is a passive aggressive means of bullying Christian students. The United States was founded as a Christian nation and should our nation collapse, the blame will, in part, be attributed to the rise of the sodomite culture, their agenda, and their exploitation of America’s innocent children. Trump: US will 'Never be great again' if Obama allows $8 gasoline

Oil prices may jump to record highs in the next couple of months, all because of President Barack Obama’s policies, and that could send the U.S. economy back into the dark ages, says billionaire real-estate mogul and reality-TV star Donald Trump.

“Oil is going to a level that may be unprecedented. Gasoline is going to be $6 to $8 a gallon,” he told CNBC. “If oil continues to go up, it’s going to be very rough. This country can never recover, because oil is our lifeblood.”

Oil hit a 2½-year high above $112 a barrel Friday.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, or OPEC, sets the price of oil, Trump says. “They’re having a field day. They don’t respect Obama, our leadership and our country. It’s going to be a very sad day for the U.S. if oil goes up any further. … This country can never be great again.”

Others are concerned about the surge in oil prices too. Soaring oil prices probably cut global economic growth by 0.5 to 1 percentage point in the first quarter, JPMorgan Chase economists wrote in a note to clients. And the continued increase is “on course” to have a similar impact this quarter, they say.

Monday, the International Monetary Fund lowered its forecast for U.S. growth this year, predicting higher oil prices and the pace of job gains will restrain the recovery.

The world’s largest economy will expand 2.8 percent this year, down from the 3 percent projected in January, the IMF said. Global gross domestic product will grow 4.4 percent in 2011, matching the previous estimate, according to the Washington-based lender’s World Economic Outlook report.

Consumer spending, the biggest part of the U.S. economy, faces headwinds from the rising cost of food and gasoline. Federal Reserve officials last month said the expansion is on “firmer footing,” lessening the need to extend a bond purchase program beyond June.

“Recovery in the labor market remains lackluster,” the IMF said in the report. “The drag on 2011 growth from oil price increases largely offsets the boost from the Federal Reserve’s unconventional policies and from stronger net exports.”

The economy grew 2.9 percent last year, the most since 2005, according to figures from the Commerce Department. U.S. GDP will expand 2.9 percent this year and 3.1 percent in 2012, according to the median estimate of about 70 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News from April 1 to April 7.

U.S. crude oil for May delivery rose $2.49 to $112.79 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange on Friday, the highest settlement since Sept. 22, 2008.

Meanwhile, with the price of gas above $3.50 a gallon in all but one state, there are signs that Americans are cutting back on driving, reversing a steady increase in demand for fuel as the economy improves, the Associated Press reported.

Gas sales have fallen for five straight weeks, the first time that has happened since November, according to MasterCard SpendingPulse, which tracks spending at 140,000 service stations nationwide.

Before the decline, demand was increasing for two months. Some analysts had expected the trend to continue because the economic recovery is picking up, adding 216,000 jobs in March.

"More people are going to work," said John Gamel, director of gasoline research for MasterCard. "That means more people are driving and they should be buying more gas," he told the AP.

Instead, about 70 percent of the nation's major gas-station chains say sales have fallen, according to a March survey by the Oil Price Information Service. More than half reported a drop of 3 percent or more — the sharpest since the summer of 2008, when gas soared past $4 a gallon.

This year, gas prices have shot up as unrest in North Africa and the Middle East rattled energy markets and increased global demand for crude oil squeezed supplies. A gallon of unleaded regular costs $3.77 on average, and only Wyoming has an average lower than $3.50. Gas is already 41 cents more expensive then at this point in 2008, when it peaked at $4.11 in July.

But a top Federal Reserve official said he expected commodity prices to stabilize and have a minimal effect on underlying U.S. inflation trends, even if costly fuel did put a dent on household budgets, Reuters reported.

Dennis Lockhart, president of the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank, said historically, prices for industrial commodities "have tended to exert a relatively small effect on most consumer prices."

"This is not to say there will be no pass-through effect on inflation. The point is the effect is likely to be muted."

Donald Trump responds to birth certificate column

Re “Donald Trump Gets Weirder,” by Gail Collins (column, April 2):

Even before Gail Collins was with the New York Times, she has written nasty and derogatory articles about me. Actually, I have great respect for Ms. Collins in that she has survived so long with so little talent. Her storytelling ability and word usage (coming from me, who has written many bestsellers), is not at a very high level. More importantly, her facts are wrong!

As far as her comments on the so-called “birther” issue, I don't need Ms. Collins's advice. There is a very large segment of our society who believe that Barack Obama, indeed, was not born in the United States. His grandmother from Kenya stated, on tape, that he was born in Kenya and she was there to watch the birth. His family in Honolulu is fighting over which hospital in Hawaii he was born in-they just don't know.

He has not been able to produce a “birth certificate” but merely a totally unsigned “certificate of live birth”-which is totally different and of very little significance. Unlike a birth certificate, a certificate of live birth is very easy to obtain. Equally of importance, there are no records in Hawaii that a Barack Hussein Obama was born there-no bills, no doctors names, no nurses names, no registrations, no payments, etc. As far as the two notices placed in newspapers, many things could have happened, but some feel the grandparents put an ad in order to show that he was a citizen of the U.S. with all of the benefits thereto. Everybody, after all, and especially then, wanted to be a United States citizen.

The term used by Ms. Collins-“birther”-is very derogatory and is meant in a derogatory way. Had this been George Bush or almost any other President or Presidential aspirant, they would never have been allowed to attain office, or would have been thrown out of office very quickly.

For some reason, the press protects President Obama beyond anything or anyone I have ever seen. What they don't realize is that if he was not born in the United States, they would have uncovered the greatest "scam" in the history of our country. In other words, they would become the hottest writer since Watergate, or beyond.

Open your eyes, Gail, there's at least a good chance that Barack Hussein Obama has made mincemeat out of our great and cherished Constitution!

Controversial Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio isn't buying Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano's claims that the U.S.-Mexico border is safer.

So Arpaio has announced the launch of one of the largest crime suppression sweeps in Arizona's history, “Operation Desert Sky,” targeting drug-smugglers using desert corridors in his county.

The sweep will include the use of 30 aircraft patrolling for at least 30 days, armed posse members, drug-sniffing dogs, and SWAT teams equipped with M-16s.

“I don’t go along with the theory that the border is more secure than ever before,” said Arpaio, whose Maricopa County includes the Phoenix area, refuting claims by federal officials that crime along the Mexican border has dropped.

His assertion is backed by the nonprofit Center for Immigration Studies' Mark Krikorian who told Newsmax that Napolitano's statements are "political spin," and her defense of administration policies along the border is becoming “something of a laughing stock.”

Under Arpaio's plan, airborne spotters will report suspicious activity to deputies on the ground.

“Given the level of danger posed by the smugglers, deputies and qualified armed posse volunteers including the SWAT team will be equipped to respond on the ground with M-16s and other firearms including the Sheriff’s 50-caliber machine gun,” Arpaio, who has been called “America’s toughest sheriff,” said in a statement.

The operation follows the recent arrests of 207 illegal immigrants in the county and the seizure of some 36,000 pounds of marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamines in the past year.

Napolitano said last week that security on the southern U.S. border "is better now than it ever has been."

But drug traffickers have now been using sophisticated technology to elude detection, including radio transponders installed in Arizona mountain ranges and solar-powered radios in the desert.

Lt. Steve Bailey, a Maricopa County sheriff’s deputy, said about the operation: “Isn’t it easier to go down here and get [drugs] on the road versus getting them after they’ve come into town?”

Arpaio's actions have riled some.

Human rights activist Salvador Reza told the Arizona Republic that the operation “will spend taxpayer dollars to put 30 pilots in the air and put everyone at risk by arming vigilantes with M-16s and machine guns, according to reports.”

But Arpaio said the operation will be funded from the $1.5 million the Arizona legislature has allotted to fight illegal immigration, and pointed out that posse members are unpaid volunteers.

Those volunteers are putting their life on the line, Arpaio noted, adding: “It’s a dangerous world out there.”

TAMPA — A Tampa judge is under fire after ruling that he will follow Islamic law in a case against a local mosque that ultimately could decide who controls $2.2 million in state money.

Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen said he will decide in a lawsuit against a local mosque, the Islamic Education Center of Tampa, " whether the parties in the litigation properly followed the teachings of the Koran in obtaining an arbitration decision from an Islamic scholar," tampabay.com reports.

"This case will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic Law," the judge wrote in his March 3 ruling.

The case stems from a lawsuit filed by several male members of the mosque who say that in 2002, they were unfairly and improperly removed as trustees, the site reported. The center later received $2.2 million from the state after some of its land was used in a road project, and who controls that money is part of the lawsuit.

Tampabay.com quoted the mosque’s attorney saying his client has appealed to the 2nd District Court of Appeal challenging Nielsen’s use of religion in the case.

"The mosque believes wholeheartedly in the Koran and its teachings," attorney Paul Thanasides said. "They certainly follow Islamic law in connection with their spiritual endeavors. But with respect to secular endeavors, they believe Florida law should apply in Florida courts."

Sen. Alan Hays and Rep. Larry Metz, Florida Republicans, filed legislation to prevent Islamic law, or any foreign legal code, from being applied in state courts, tampabay.com said.

Europe becoming non-white at an increasing rate

The following story is not a surprise to those within the white nationalist movement that have for decades been sounding an alarm that our sister European white countries were on a path to become non-white. This is just one of many stories that now is becoming pubic knowledge. It is happening to our beloved country in America. Europe’s population is shrinking and aging so much so fast that a major decline in European living standards is now statistically inevitable within the next 15 years, according to data contained in a publication titled “The EU in the World: A Statistical Portrait.” The 113-page report — published by the European Union’s official statistics agency known as Eurostat — shows that Europeans increasingly are relegating themselves to the global margins, as their relative share of global wealth and trade shrinks. The main culprit is the refusal by Europeans to produce more children.

Eurostat estimates that the world’s population reached 6.9 billion people at the beginning of 2010. Asia accounts for more than 60 percent of the total (China, 20 percent and India, 18 percent). By contrast, the European Union’s 500 million people account for 7 percent of the world’s total population, and the United States with its 320 million inhabitants currently makes up 5 percent of the world total.

But the Eurostat data also show that while the world’s population increased by more than 130 percent since 1960, Europe’s population increased by only 25 percent during that same period, and will peak in 2025 before embarking on a permanent downward trajectory. By comparison, the U.S. population increased by 70 percent over the past 50 years and is expected to continue growing at a healthy pace well beyond 2050.

The report also shows that most of Europe’s population growth over the past decade has been due to mass immigration from mostly Muslim countries, and not to natural population growth by native Europeans. The data show that Europe’s population growth due to net immigration (the difference between immigration and emigration from an area) was more than twice the rate of natural population growth.

By contrast, Eurostat data show that America’s total population growth over the past decade has been more than four times greater than the rate experienced by Europe, and natural population growth has consistently been more than six times higher than the European rate.

At the same time, the Eurostat data show that Europe’s population is aging at a rapid rate. This will increase the old-age dependency ratio to unsustainable levels in the near-term future. The old-age dependency ratio shows the level of financial support for the retired population (aged 65 years and over) provided by the working age population (those aged between 15 to 64 years).

More specifically, the Eurostat data show that the European Union had a 26.1 percent old-age dependency ratio (population aged 65 years and over as a percentage of the population aged 15-64) in 2010, a figure that is forecast to jump to 31.5 percent in 2020, 38.7 percent in 2030, 46.1 percent in 2040, and a whopping 50.6 percent in 2050. According to Eurostat: “The EU-27’s old-age population will increase to such an extent that there will be fewer than two persons of working age for each person aged 65 or more by the year 2050.”

By way of comparison, the United States had an old-age dependency ratio of only 19.4 percent in 2010, a figure that is forecast to rise to 24.9 percent in 2020, 31.7 percent in 2030, 34.0 percent in 2040, and 35.1 percent in 2050, well below every single EU country.

Consider Germany, which currently ranks as the most populous country in Europe and the fourth-biggest economy in the world (China recently leapfrogged Germany to become the world’s third-largest economy). According to projections by the German Federal Statistics Office, the German population is forecast to shrink by as much as 20 percent by 2060.

Germany’s population of 82 million in 2008, the largest in the European Union, will decline to between 65 million and 70 million over the next five decades. By 2060, 34 percent of the population will be older than 65 and 14 percent will be 80 or more, up from 20 percent and 5 percent, respectively, in 2008.

The number of pensioners that will have to be supported by working-age people could almost double by 2060, the report says. While 100 people of working age between 20 and 65 had to provide the pensions for 34 retired people last year, they will have to generate income for between 63 and 67 pensioners in 2060, it says.

The German statistics office’s projection assumes a birth rate of 1.4 children per woman through 2020, an increase in life expectancy to 85 years for men and 89.2 years for women by 2060, and net immigration of 100,000 people per year.

“While the number of older people increases, fewer and fewer people will be of an age at which they can work. This will have consequences for the social security system,” the report says.

“Germany will clearly decline as an economic power, especially in comparison to up-and-coming nations such as China and India,” reports the Mannheim Research Institute for the Economics of Aging.

Demography matters so much that it will cripple Europe by 2050, according to a new report published by HSBC, the London-based banking group. The 46-page publication titled “The World in 2050: Quantifying the Shift in the Global Economy” projects that many European countries will drop out of the top 30 most productive nations by 2050, to be displaced by a host of emerging economies with higher birth rates.

“The small-population, ageing, rich economies in Europe are the big losers. Switzerland and the Netherlands slip down the grid significantly, and Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Norway and Denmark drop out of our Top 30 altogether,” HSBC says. “This may have implications for the ability of these economies to influence the global policy agenda,” HSBC says. “Already, Europe has been forced to concede two seats on the IMF’s executive board in order to make way for some emerging economies.”

More importantly, Europe’s social welfare economic model faces a radical reconfiguration and will cease to exist in its current form in 2050, the report says.

By contrast, the Anglo-Saxon economic model is forecast to fare well, and the United States and Britain, with highly favorable demographic outlooks, will be relatively successful at maintaining their positions.

Although China (at $24.6 trillion, constant 2000 dollars) is forecast to snatch the top spot from the United States ($22.3 trillion), according to HSBC, China will not come even close to matching U.S. living standards: Americans will be three times richer than the Chinese in 2050.

Britain at $3.6 trillion also fares well, slipping just one rank to sixth place but pulling far ahead of Italy and France, and almost displacing Germany as Europe’s biggest economy, according to the HSBC forecast. This is mainly due to Britain’s healthy fertility rate (1.9), compared with Germany (1.3), Italy (1.4), and Spain (1.4).

Another report predicts that Britain will see its population increase over the next 40 years at a far faster rate than nearly every other European country. According to a publication titled “2010 World Population Data Sheet” produced by the Population Reference Bureau, Britain will see its population swell from 62.2 million today to 77 million in 2050, an increase of 24 percent. This will make Britain bigger than France, projected to be 70 million and Germany, which is forecast to have 71.5 million citizens.

In an essay titled “Eurabia?,” the British historian Niall Ferguson writes that the world is about to witness “the greatest sustained reduction in European population since the Black Death of the fourteenth century.”

Ferguson continues: “With the median age of Greeks, Italians, and Spaniards projected to exceed 50 by 2050 — roughly one in three people will be 65 or over — the welfare states created in the wake of World War II plainly require drastic reform. Either today’s newborn Europeans will spend their working lives paying 75 percent tax rates or retirement and ‘free’ health care will simply have to be abolished. Alternatively (or additionally), Europeans will have to tolerate more legal immigration.”

But where will the new immigrants come from? “It seems very likely that a high proportion will come from neighboring countries, and Europe’s fastest-growing neighbors today are predominantly if not wholly Muslim,” Ferguson observes.

In fact, the number of Muslims in Europe has grown from 29.6 million in 1990 to 44.1 million in 2010, according to a new report titled “The Future of the Global Muslim Population.” The survey, produced by the Washington, D.C.-based Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, projects that Europe’s Muslim population is projected to exceed 58 million by 2030.

Mass immigration from Muslim countries is already transforming European society in ways unimaginable only a few years ago, and debates about the integration (or lack thereof) of Muslim immigrants are heating up in countries across Europe (here, here, and here).

Some analysts argue that what ails Europe is not primarily a crisis of demography, but rather a crisis of spirit. In an essay titled “Troubled Continent,” Michael Novak, a scholar at the Washington-based American Enterprise Institute (AEI), writes: “The Europe that is declining in population is a Europe more rational than Europe has ever been, more scientific, less religious, less pious, more mundane, wealthier, more consumerist, more universally close to living etsi Deus non daretur (as if God does not exist).”

Novak believes that in their blind pursuit of reason, secularism, and materialism, “European elites have done their withering best to empty Europe of its Christian spirit. They have swept Europe clean just in time for the rapid rise of a rival faith prolific with children, vitality, passion, and confidence in long-term victory.”

Viewed from this perspective, Europe’s demographic decline reflects a crisis of confidence in the future: The lack of faith not only in tomorrow … but also in God … begets hopelessness. And without hope for the future, one is less likely to want to bring children into the world.

In any case, the nineteenth-century French sociologist Auguste Comte once warned that “demographics is destiny,” words that seem highly prescient in the context of contemporary Europe.

Public employees ruined Rome. In the 2nd century BC, the general Marius wanted to turn Rome’s citizen army, then a troop of part-timers, into a professional fighting force. To entice men to sign up for lengthy stints far from home, Marius promised his soldiers cash bonuses and — more importantly — land on which they could settle after their terms expired. It was one of the world’s first government pension plans.

Unfortunately, Marius’ reform turned out to be a recipe for civil conflict and, eventually, economic collapse. Roman soldiers began to look to individual generals, rather than the state, as their benefactors, and began to serve for financial reward rather than patriotic duty. Roman military leaders were forced to promise more and more public resources to maintain the loyalty of their troops, until one day there was no more money — by the 3rd century AD, the army cost more than tax receipts collected, an unmistakable sign that the end was near.

Public employees are now ruining the American republic, though our malefactors come not from the army but from the legions of unionized workers laboring in government service. For decades, public-sector unions have used their influence to help elect their own bosses and demand lavish pension and health care benefits. The result is 44 states facing an estimated budgetary shortfall of $125 billion.

Wisconsin is just one state finding that the cost of its employees exceeds its tax revenues. If something isn’t done to put the state’s finances on sound footing, a $3.6 billion budget shortfall looms. Gov. Scott Walker is attempting to do just that. Among other things, he’s asking his state’s unionized employees to contribute more to their health and pension plans. Those workers, especially teachers, responded with massive protests against Gov. Walker and his plan.

The average salary of a Milwaukee public school teacher is $56,500. But factor in the enormous benefits packages, including health care and pensions, and the annual average compensation is $100,005! In spite of such well-compensated instructors, and per-pupil spending higher any other Midwestern state,two thirds of Wisconsin 8th graders cannot read at a proficient level, according to 2009 data from the U.S. Department of Education. Twenty-two percent, or nearly one in four students, cannot even read at a “basic” level. True, that is slightly higher than the national average — but what a pathetically weak average it is! An atrocious 30 percent of 8th graders nationwide are “proficient” readers.

In spite of this dismaying record, Wisconsin’s teachers had the temerity to walk off the job en masse in protest of Walker’s proposals, flock by the thousands to the capitol in Madison, and force the closure of schools throughout the state. Of course, though they declined to teach while protesting their right to bankrupt the state, they were still collecting their salary. As reported by the MacIver Institute:

In Madison, the school district was closed for three days after hundreds of teachers engaged in a mass sick-out so they could attend protest rallies at the State Capitol. That could cost the district $2.7 million […]. If all the teachers in Milwaukee and Madison are paid for the days missed, the protest related salaries for just the state’s two largest districts would exceed $6.6 million dollars.

American public-sector workers have become more loyal to their unions than to the state, just as Roman soldiers became loyal to generals instead of the Senate. It’s the corruption that comes, and always will come, when one class of citizens is given privileged access to the public purse.

Wis. Senate orders arrest of 14 AWOL Dems if they don't return

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin's Senate Republicans have voted to order police to bring their AWOL Democratic colleagues back to work by force if they don't return by late afternoon.

The 14 Democratic senators escaped to Illinois two weeks ago to avoid voting on Gov. Scott Walker's proposal to take away nearly all collective bargaining rights from most state workers. Their absence has prevented a quorum and blocked passage of the bill.

The state constitution doesn't allow for senators to be arrested simply for not showing up.

But Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says the resolution passed Thursday allows police to take the Democrats into custody under Senate rules and only if they are in Wisconsin.

Senate Democrats disagree about what's allowed under the chamber's rules and are consulting with lawyers.

Obama Budget Doubles National Debt to $26.3 Trillion in 10 Yrs

(CNSNews.com) – If the federal budget released by President Barack Obama today is implemented, it will double the national debt over the next 10 years. The current national debt is $13.56 trillion (end of FY 2010). By the end of 2021, that debt would rise to $26.3 trillion under the White House budget.

The figures reflect the effects of Obama’s fiscal year 2012 budget priorities, particularly a federal deficit that never falls below $500 billion in any year between 2010 and 2021.

The national debt – both debt held by the public and debt held by “government accounts” (the Social Security trust fund chief among them) – was $13.56 trillion on Sept. 30. 2010, the end of fiscal year 2010. (The national debt today, Deb. 14, 2011, is $14.08 trillion.)

In 2021, the national debt will have risen to $26.3 trillion, increasing by $1 trillion every year until 2021. Obama’s budget does not contain any plans for balancing the federal budget or reducing the national debt.

Gov. Susana Martinez Signs Executive Order Directing Police to Ask About Immigration Status

New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez signed an executive order on Monday that requires police to ask people they've arrested for their immigration status. The executive order rescinds a policy that prohibited police from asking about an individual's immigration status that was established by former-Governor Bill Richardson.

Gov. Martinez's executive order prohibits police from inquiring about an individual's immigration status if they are a victim of a crime, but puts an end to what she called "sanctuary policies" that were encouraged by former-Governor Richardson.

"This order takes the handcuffs off of New Mexico's law enforcement officers in their mission to keep our communities safe," Martínez said in a statement. "The criminal justice system should have the authority to determine the immigration status of all criminals, regardless of race or ethnicity, and report illegal immigrants who commit crimes to federal authorities."

New Mexico is one of three states that still issues driver's licenses to illegal aliens, but Gov. Martinez's executive order coincides with the introduction of a bill in the state legislature that would end that practice.

Egypt shows how quickly internet can be shut down

The move by Egyptian authorities to seal off the country almost entirely from the Internet shows how easily a state can isolate its people when telecoms providers are few and compliant.

In an attempt to stop the frenzied online spread of dissent against President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule, not only Facebook and Twitter but the entire Internet was shut down overnight, leaving some 20 million users stranded.

Hundreds of service providers offer connections in Egypt, but just four own the infrastructure - Link Egypt, Vodafone/Raya[VOD-LN 178.15 -0.90 (-0.5%)], Telecom Egyptand Etisalat Misr.

Daniel Karrenberg, chief scientist at RIPE NCC, a European not-for-profit Internet infrastructure forum, says immature markets with few providers can achieve such shutdowns relatively easily.

"The more simple the topology is and the fewer Internet services providers there are, the easier it is for any government or the telco themselves to control access into any geographical area," he said.

"If you have a relatively diverse telecoms market and a very much meshed Internet topology then it's much more difficult to do than if you have the traditional telecoms structure of two decades ago and they control all the international connections. Obviously that creates a choke point," he said.

Despite the rapid transformation of the Web during its short history, and the unprecedented freedom of expression it has enabled, the Internet still has vulnerable points that can be exploited by governments or for commercial interests.

Cut Off From The World

"Virtually all of Egypt's Internet addresses are now unreachable, worldwide," Jim Cowie, chief technology officer of U.S.-based Internet monitoring firm Renesys wrote on the company blog.

"Every Egyptian provider, every business, bank, Internet cafe, website, school, embassy, and government office that relied on the big four Egyptian ISPs for their Internet connectivity is now cut off from the rest of the world."

Vodafone said in an emailed statement: "All mobile operators in Egypt have been instructed to suspend services in selected areas. Under Egyptian legislation, the authorities have the right to issue such an order and we are obliged to comply."

A few large organisations with independent connections were able to stay connected to the Internet. Cowie said on Friday he was investigating two apparent exceptions to the block: the Commercial International Bank of Egypt and the Stock Exchange.

Iran, Tunisia and most recently Syria have imposed Internet restrictions in attempts to quell opposition, but Egypt's is by far the most drastic move so far.

The closest precedent has been in China, which has more Internet users than any other country and also the strictest controls. It cut off Internet access to its Xinjiang region for almost a year after deadly ethnic unrest in 2009.

Centralized

The world's biggest social network Facebook, and Twitter with its real-time mini-blog posts, have proved extraordinarily effective in gathering large numbers of people together and helping them to be nimble in dodging the authorities.

Lynn St Amour, president of the Internet Society, says they could have made revolutionaries of many who had not seen themselves as activists, thanks to the ease of signing up to groups or sending messages of support while sitting at home.

But the danger of depending on such services is that they can be blocked simply by targeting their IP addresses, since they are centralized on a single site - as witnessed in Iran and Tunisia.

"It's quite easy, as we've seen," St Amour told Reuters at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

In Tunisia, dissidents even found their Facebook pages taken over without their knowledge. But when access to an entire site is blocked from outside, there is little that Facebook or Twitter can do - although users often find ways around the problem by using proxy servers.

"We try very hard to keep Facebook available wherever people want to access it," Dan Rose, who is responsible for Facebook's worldwide business development, said in London this week.

"We have outreach and relationships with governments all around the world. We can only do what we can do."

Diversity

The resilience of the Internet in any particular country also depends on the diversity of its international providers, the routes in an out of a country.

In 2008, Egypt suffered an 80 percent outage of Internet services when submarine cables in the Mediterranean linking Egypt to the rest of the world were accidentally cut.

On Friday, key fibre-optic cables that pass through Egypt as they link Europe to Asia appeared unaffected.

Renesys's Cowie contrasted a country such as Egypt with those that have highly dispersed international connections.

"In the United States you have every global carrier available to you, you have multiple cable landing points ...you have a country that effectively can't be taken off the Internet," he told Reuters.

No place in America better symbolizes the ruination brought by Democrats than Detroit. The city has been run by Democrats for decades, while its economic life has been in thrall to the unions, which drove up wages to unsustainable levels, ruining the American auto industry.

The UK Guardian has published a selection of stunning photographs taken by Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre, showing the ruins of once grand buildings in the Motor City. It is heartbreaking to see -- almost as if a war was fought there. Yet, the problem is that it is not because of the Democrats ruining the city. It's because the city no longer reflects that of the great days of the past when the city was made up of White Christians. Detroit was the workmans' paradise. Now, it reflects that of a third world country in Africa. The similarities are the same. The people that makes up Detroit and a third world African country is made up of negroes, the two are totally bankrupt, crime runs rampant such as rape, murder, and robbery, and there are no white people. Ummm.

Ohio Supreme Court upholds state law blocking Cleveland's gun law

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Lawmakers had the right to pass a uniform statewide gun law that blocked Cleveland and other cities from passing tougher laws such as assault weapons bans and handgun registration requirements, the state's highest court ruled Wednesday.

Gun-rights advocates hailed the Ohio Supreme Court's decision as a victory for constitutional rights, while Cleveland officials attacked it as an infringement on their authority to protect citizens from gun violence.

In the 5-2 decision, the Republican-dominated court said a 2006 state law does not violate Ohio's home rule provision that gives local authorities the ability to enact measures in the interest of their citizens. A key question in the case was whether the statewide gun law is considered a "general law"-- which under the home rule provision would override local ordinances.

The 13-page decision written by Justice Evelyn Lundberg Stratton supports the rationale of lawmakers that the statewide gun law was needed in 2006 to keep gun owners from being at the mercy of "a confusing patchwork" of licensing requirements and possession restrictions.

The gun law "is a general law that displaces municipal firearm ordinances and does not unconstitutionally infringe on municipal home rule authority," Stratton wrote. Concurring were Justices Maureen O'Connor, Terrence O'Donnell, Judith Lanzinger and Robert Cupp.

Cleveland had argued that its crime troubles are more severe than in other parts of the state, so gun control rules that apply to low-crime rural areas should not apply to the big city.

Cleveland has about a half-dozen firearms provisions that are stricter than the state law passed in 2006. For example, every firearm in the city must be registered; no one can openly carry a gun; and assault rifles and shotguns are banned -- all bans that are preempted by Ohio's uniform gun law and have been on hold during the court case.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson said the ruling will put urban populations like Cleveland's at greater risk for gun violence.

"Even though we've made progress in Cleveland, gun violence is a very real threat that we face, particularly our young people," Jackson said in a statement. "Our inability to enforce laws that are right for our city flies in the face of home rule and takes power away the people at the local level."

Attorney General Richard Cordray praised the decision as a big win for those exercising their Second Amendment rights.

"This is an important victory for every gun owner in Ohio," Cordray said in a statement. "Before 2006, Ohioans faced a confusing patchwork of local ordinances with different restrictions on gun ownership and possession."

Chris Cox, executive director of the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action echoed Cordray's comments and added in a statement: "If Cleveland, or any other city, wants to crack down on violence, city leaders there should focus on prosecuting criminals, not enacting new gun laws that only serve to restrict law-abiding citizens."

Cleveland Law Director Robert Triozzi, however, said the decision "eviscerates" home rule in Ohio.

"The impact is that municipalities can no longer take reasonable action to protect their citizens from the unique impact of gun violence in an urban environment, notwithstanding the numerous acts of gun violence throughout the state in the almost five years since the legislature passed a 'comprehensive' gun safety law in this state," he said in a statement.

Triozzi and other Cleveland officials see Wednesday's ruling as the latest blow to the nearly century-old authority of local governments to make their own laws. In recent years, the state legislature has passed laws attempting to limit local control over such issues as gas well drilling, real estate development, traffic cameras, residency requirements for employees and predatory lending.

Generally, the state's highest court has sided with lawmakers in recent years, striking down local provisions when they conflict with state law. For example, a Cleveland law restricting high interest rates and fees by lenders and another requiring city employees to live in Cleveland were both overturned by the court, citing conflicting statewide laws.

Dissenting in Wednesday's ruling were Chief Justice Eric Brown, the court's lone Democrat, and Justice Paul Pfeifer, who said that the law violates home-rule rights by preventing communities "from tailoring ordinances concerning the regulation of guns to local conditions."

The Supreme Court ruling overturns a decision by the 8th District Ohio Court of Appeals that found that the gun law was unconstitutional.

A sliver of the case is still alive as the high court punted back to the appeals court the question of whether the law violates the one-subject rule for legislation embedded in the Ohio Constitution. The appeals court has previously found this issue moot.

On Jan. 31, 1977 Coretta Scott King obtained a federal court order sealing 845 pages of FBI records about her husband for 50 years "because its release would destroy his reputation!" Many people contend that there is important information within this sealed file that should be made available to the public. The court says the file is of little importance, yet others claim that if that is indeed true, why withhold the information from the public.

The order to "bug" King was made by then U.S. Attorney General Bobby Kennedy on Oct. 10, 1963. Before the files were finally sealed – some of the information was leaked and corroborated by associates of King. These statements are included in Congressional Records, which are available to the public. What we do know about King is so shocking that it is hard to believe there is actually more – but the files remain closed – even to the media.

King was affiliated with over 60 Communist groups (Congressional Record May 29, 1968 pg. E4785)

The Washington Observer Newsletter reported that "When the FBI agents had King under surveillance, they observed him meet a well-identified Soviet espionage agent at the Kennedy Airport in New York. They also secured evidence that King was receiving large sums of money from a well-known American Communist agent who gives King instructions that he implicitly obeys." (Congressional Record April 11, 1968 pg. E3005)

When the government raided the Southern Conference Educational Fund (labeled by the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee as "a communist transmission belt for the South.") a check was found made out to Martin Luther King, Jr.– it was endorsed for cashing – the signatures on the check are those of James Dombrowski and Benjamin Smith (registered agent of Fidel Castro), both were identified Communist agents and the check is noted to be for "New York Expenses" The check was dated March 7, 1963

The Tennessean newspaper printed a photo of King on Labor Day weekend 1957 seated next to Abner Berry, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and writer for the Communist paper The Daily Worker, Aubrey Williams, Communist Party organizer and Myles Horton, director of the Communist Highlander Folk School located in Monteagle Tennessee. Rosa Parks was also a student of the Communist training school.

King often spoke of love. However, after becoming enraged with a woman (one of several involved in a sex party) he became very violent, hitting and cursing, knocking her across the bed. (Ralph Abernathy, And the Walls Came Tumbling Down (New York: Harper &Row 1989)

King was involved in illicit homosexual unions – Carl Rowan, a black syndicated columnist was outraged when he had learned about the bugging of King’s hotel rooms and that there was "at least 15 reels of tape about sexual entertainment and conversations between King and Abernathy that might lead to the conclusion that there was a homosexual relationship between the two ministers." (Breaking Barriers: A Memoir by Carl Rowan – Boston: Little, Brown, and Company 1991) he blamed the bugging on Hoover until learning it was actually done at the urging of Bobby Kennedy. Tony Brown, a black talk show host, described in his book The Worst Kind of Uncle Tom, a reported instance between King and Abernathy . Using black street slang, King asks Abernathy to move closer so that oral sex can be performed. (We won’t print the actual quote)

At the Riverside Church in New York City on April 4, 1967, King said that U.S. servicemen serving in Vietnam were "like Nazis" and that U.S. servicemen were "the greatest purveyors of violence in the word today!" This statement disgraces all servicemen – white or black. Life Magazine of April 21, 1967 described King’s speech as a "a demagogic slander that sounded like a script for Radio Hanoi!"

King supported Red China’s admission to the UN and said that Americans should "not engage in a negative anti-communism." (Congressional Record May 2, 1967 p. H4973)

Communists in the U.S. were told to rally behind King. The U.S. Congressional Record of March 30, 1965 quotes Karl Prussian, a FBI counterspy inside the Communist Party. "At all of these Communist Party meetings Rev. Martin Luther King was always set forth as the individual to whom Communists should rally around."

King used the word non-violence, but wherever he went violence ensued. King wrote: "The purpose of our direct action program is to create a crisis packed situation. We who engage in non-violent direct action are not the creators of tension. – Negroes will be mentally healthier if they do not suppress rage." In Chicago he spoke before the West Side Club under a sign which read "Burn Baby Burn"

In New York City King threatened a young female civil rights worker. If she did not have sex with him – he would jump from the 13th floor of the hotel and in Norway King was nude when stopped by police while chasing a young woman down a hotel corridor.

Upon the death of King, Henry Winston, National Chairman of the Communist Party, USA led a six men delegation to the funeral of King. The Soviet Union sent messages of sympathy as well. Memorial meetings took place all over the Soviet Union: factories, halls, and theaters – even Moscow University. Waldeck Rochet, general secretary of the French Communist Party sent his regards and Poland’s Communist paper the Worker sent condolences to Corretta King. William Patterson, secretary of the Negro Department of the Communist Party, USA sent a telegram to Coretta King, wishing her the best: "Tonight we will join with all progressive mankind in expressing the deep pain and anguish at the monstrous assassination of your illustrious husband." Also in the Worker along with the article about the telegram was an article entitled, "Dr. King’s Legacy – 'FULFILL IT! COMMUNISTS DEMAND." What was it they wish to fulfill? The New York Post of July 1, 1958 interviewed King whom stated: "I’m sure that integration will lead to intermarriage." William Z. Foster head of the Communist Party in the 1940’s stated in his book, Toward a Soviet America, "The American Soviet will, of course, abolish all restrictions upon racial intermarriage.... The revolution will only hasten this process of integration."

Congressman Buchanan, speaking before the House, promulgated who benefited from King’s assassination: "The hand that gunned down Martin Luther King served the world Communist cause well, and no other cause I know". Certainly, the people who hold those Communist/Socialist/ one world order/beliefs did benefit from Kings death by the acceptance of their views by more people in society.

This is not the type of man that any child of any race should hold high as a hero. The files are not to be opened until the year 2027. By this time, will America become so degenerate as to not care about his slander of our military, his anti-women behavior, his 'secret’ homosexual lifestyle, and his subversive actions toward America and its traditions of Christian decency? We can only pray that America will not succumb to such anti-American notions. Yet, by promoting King as a hero to the youth of America without allowing them the truth of his character – we actually end up ushering in this type of mentality sooner. Obama's State Dept. Removes Mother, Father from Passports

In what seems to be a diplomatic effort at extreme political correctness and a nod to gay rights groups, the Obama administration is removing the words “mother” and “father” from U.S. passport applications and replacing them with “gender neutral” terminology. Mom and dad will now be referred to rather coldly as “parent one” and “parent two.”

Conservative Christian groups are outraged over the decision.

“Only in the topsy-turvy world of left-wing political correctness could it be considered an ‘improvement’ for a birth-related document to provide less information about the circumstances of that birth,” Family Research Council president Tony Perkins wrote in a statement to Fox News Radio. “This is clearly designed to advance the causes of same-sex ‘marriage’ and homosexual parenting without statutory authority, and violates the spirit if not the letter of the Defense of Marriage Act.”

“The words in the old form were ‘mother’ and ‘father,’” Brenda Sprague, deputy assistant Secretary of State for Passport Services, confirmed Fox News. "They are now ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two.’"

A statement on the State Department website noted: “These improvements are being made to provide a gender neutral description of a child’s parents and in recognition of different types of families.” The statement didn't note if it was for child applications only.

The new passport applications, not yet available to the public, will be available online soon. Sprague told Fox the decision to remove the traditional parenting names was not an act of political correctness.

“We find that with changes in medical science and reproductive technology that we are confronting situations now that we would not have anticipated 10 or 15 years ago,” she said.

Gay rights groups are applauding the decision.

“Changing the term mother and father to the more global term of parent allows many different types of families to be able to go and apply for a passport for their child without feeling like the government doesn’t recognize their family,” said Jennifer Chrisler, executive director of Family Equality Council.

Her organization lobbied the government for several years to remove the words from passport applications.

“Our government needs to recognize that the family structure is changing,” Chrisler said. “The best thing that we can do is support people who are raising kids in loving, stable families.”

The new gender-neutral passport application will be rolled out in February.

City with strictest gun control laws has most officers killed by gunfire

Chicago Mayor's Failed Social Policies Continue to Cost Citizens

The City of Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation. Up until a few months ago, it was illegal for a private citizen to own or possess a handgun anywhere within the city, including in one's own home. For 2010, Chicago also holds another distinction. More Chicago Police Officers were killed by gunfire this year than any other police agency in the nation. The city also boasts one of the highest violent crime rates in the country, with 1 in 89 residents being victims of violent crime last year.

According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, Inc., the City of Chicago had five police officers killed in the line of duty this year. Four of those were killed by gunfire. This, despite the fact that until June of this year, Chicago did not allow the licensing of handguns. In order to lawfully possess a handgun in Chicago, a citizen was required to have a license. In effect, the Chicago law banned having any type of handgun.

In June, the Supreme Court ruled Chicago's ban violated its citizens' Second Amendment Rights. Long-time Chicago Mayor, Richard Daley, and the Chicago City Council, then reworked the city's laws, making it possible, but extremely expensive and difficult, to obtain a handgun license, clinging desperately to the hope that strict gun control laws would decrease crime in their city. When asked by Mick Dumke, of the Chicago Reader, if the city's firearms restrictions had helped, given the city's high rate of violent crime, Daley picked up a rifle from a news conference display and responded, "If I put this up your—ha!—your butt—ha ha!—you’ll find out how effective this is!"

In this case, it would appear more restrictions on firearms do not equal a safer community.

Among the most common “medical procedures” in the United States. So much for that safe, legal and rare thing, huh? That lie has been completely exposed already and there are over 50 million dead fetuses that attest to that fact. They don’t want it to be rare; they want it to be the default option as No Easy Decision, and the glee-ridden leftist feminist response to it, clearly shows. In fact, they want it to be “normal” and common. And will outright lie in order to accomplish this. Markai was told by the abortion clinic counselor as she was being prepped for the abortion, “do not think of ‘it’ as ten fingers and ten toes or anything like that or you will get too depressed. Think of ‘it’ as what ‘it’ is: a ball of cells.” I suppose that’s why children are not even allowed in the waiting room of the clinic; don’t want any of those pesky balls of cells running around confusing people.

"No" to H1N1 Vaccine

I will not be taking the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine, nor will the Hotze Health & Wellness Center be offering it. In fact I recommend against it for the following reasons:

1. The swine flu has been very mild. According to the World Health Organization there have been less than 5000 deaths from the swine flu worldwide, hardly an epidemic when you consider that 100,000 people die in U.S. hospitals from drug interactions of doctor prescribed, FDA approved drugs given in appropriate doses and 750,000 Americans die annually from heart disease.

2. Most of the cases of the so called “swine flu” are undocumented. Few physicians perform the lab tests for the swine flu or seasonal flu because the tests cost around $300 each and take up to two weeks to get the results. The diagnosis is routinely made based upon clinical presentation. The symptoms of the swine flu are the same as that of the seasonal flu.

3. The H1N1 vaccine has not been tested effectively. The FDA states that 5000 children were given sample vaccinations. The long term effects cannot be determined for months or years.

4. In 1976 there was a swine flu scare and over 40,000,000 Americans were vaccinated. It was a disaster with thousands of healthy individuals developing Guillain Barre’s syndrome, a severe neurological disorder, after receiving the vaccine. My mother was bedridden for six months after she took the swine flu vaccine in 1976.

5. The swine flu vaccine contains a live “attenuated” virus, formaldehyde, the preservative used for corpses, and thimerasol, which contains mercury, a dangerous neurotoxin, in 10 times levels considered to be a safe exposure by the Environmental Protection Agency. Thimerasol has been strongly implicated in the development autism despite drug company denials. The Swine flu vaccine also contains an oil-based "adjuvant" known as MF-59 which contains two main ingredients of concern, squalene and gp120. It is manufactured by the Chiron Pharmaceutical Company. Studies have demonstrated that these immune adjuvants cause devastating autoimmune disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and lupus.

6. Squalene in vaccines has been strongly linked to the Gulf War Syndrome, which ruined the lives of hundreds of thousands of troops and killed thousands of others. Veteran vaccine risk assessor, Dr. Viera Scheibner, investigated squalene’s use as a vaccine adjuvant and wrote: “Squalene contributed to the cascade of reactions called Gulf War Syndrome. GIs developed arthritis, fibromyalgia, lymphadenopathy, rashes, photosensitive rashes, malar rashes, chronic fatigue, chronic headaches, abnormal body hair loss, non-healing skin lesions, aphthous ulcers, dizziness, weakness, memory loss, seizures, mood changes, neuropsychiatric problems, anti-thyroid effects, anemia, elevated ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, deadly Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Raynaud’s phenomenon with paroxysms of lack of blood in fingers and toes in fingers and toes, Sjorgren’s syndrome with blurred vision, chronic diarrhea, night sweats and low-grade fever.”

7. Few people die from the flu itself. Death is usually caused by secondary pneumonia in individuals whose immune systems are compromised. Healthy individuals can bolster their immune systems using vitamins D3, C, E, fish oil and a good vitamin B multivitamin with minerals.

8. Epidemiological studies question whether the annual flu shot has any true benefit. I have never taken a flu shot nor does our center offer them. Please read the

But these Senators need the most encouragement because of the special politics of their own states and other vulnerabilities they may have to pressure from the open-borders folks.

TALKING POINTS

I feel like most of the Senators are ignoring the main reasons the DREAM amnesty should not go any farther in this Lame Duck session:

It is a massive amnesty to deal with the symptoms of past out-of-control illegal immigration without a single provision to reduce future illegal immigration.
It creates millions more legal workers to compete with the 22 million Americans who want a full-time job but can't find one. And it does nothing to turn off the jobs magnet for future illegal workers.

Don't forget that the Senators you are calling are basically sympathetic to the young illegal-alien adults who were brought here by their parents.

I don't think speaking against the potential amnesty recipients will be helpful in those offices.

Instead, emphasize the points above and how continued illegal immigration harms American victims.

The DREAM Act amnesty is
(a) full of loopholes
(b) wildly susceptible to fraud
(c) does nothing to end the job magnet that allowed the parents to put these "kids" into their position in the first place.

WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN THIS WEEK

Let me first state what is at stake if we let up and the other side peels off just enough Senators to pass the House-passed amnesty.

How will we feel if we don't put our full effort into lobbying Senators this week and then the amnesty narrowly passes just before everybody goes home for the year? Any amnesty that passes the Senate this week will be signed into law. And even though there is no chance an amnesty could pass next year, there also is no chance that an amnesty passed this week could be overturned by next year's Congress (because of the President's certain veto of an overturning).

The mainstream media for the most part are treating the amnesty as something unlikely to be brought back up for a vote in the Senate, primarily because the legislative calendar is so crowded.

But nearly every group on the pro-amnesty side and on the anti-amnesty side believes that Sen. Reid will live up to his promise to hold the vote.

We don't see Reid bringing up DREAM before the tax deal is settled because the only way to add Republicans as YES votes is to get tax deal done first.

The Senate cloture vote to start debate on the tax deal is scheduled for 3 p.m. today (Monday). Perhaps the tax deal could be settled by Wednesday.

Reid has not yet filed cloture on DREAM. There can be no vote on DREAM until two calendar days after cloture has been filed. If he filed today, the vote could be as early as Wednesday.

Wrongfully, immorally and unjustly imprisoned: Brian Aitken's Story

11.30.2010– Brian Aitken was a finance student at NYU, an economic scholar at the Foundation of Economic Education, a father, an entrepreneur, mountain climber, and so many other things. One of the things that he was not, however, was a criminal. No one, not the judge, jury, or prosecutor disputes the fact that there were no victims in Brian Aitken’s case. Regardless, he’s currently serving 7 years in state prison for a crime that thousands of people maintain he didn’t commit.

On January 2, 2009 Brian was arrested for illegal possession of firearms while moving from one residence from another. All of the firearms were legally owned—Brian passed three different FBI background checks to purchase and had even cleared an FBI screening for employment as a data researcher handling confidential information for a banking security software firm. His integrity, character, and right to own was not in question…so what was?

New Jersey statutes make it illegal for anyone without a concealed carry permit to possess a firearm even if it’s otherwise lawfully owned. The only way to lawfully possess firearms in New Jersey is through exemptions to the law like driving to and from a shooting range or moving residences. However, as they are exemptions from the law they must be raised during trial therefore removing the presumption of innocence for the charge of possession.

Brian had just brought his firearms from CO to NJ a week prior to his arrest–in fact, TSA cleared him to fly with them….the same TSA that terrifies five year olds girls and breaks a bladder cancer survivor’s urostomy bag. He had just moved back to an apartment in Hoboken that he had moved out of a month earlier and closed on the sale of his Colorado home 11 days after his arrest.

Several witnesses, including the arresting officer, testified that not only did Brian have multiple residences but that his car was packed with his personal belongings–so much so that it took the police 2 hours and 39 minutes before they found Brian’s guns locked and unloaded in the trunk of his car, exactly as NJ law dictates. Brian knew this because only days earlier he had found out through the NJ state police how to legally transport his firearms in NJ. The officers, believing Brian had done nothing wrong, then offered to leave the firearms at his parents’ house, but when they wouldn’t fit in his father’s safe the supervising officer decided to arrest him instead.

During the next 18 months the prosecutor approached Brian and his attorney with plea offer after plea offer. If Brian pled guilty he’d spend one mandatory year in prison and spend the rest of his life a convicted felon for a crime he didn’t commit….otherwise the prosecutor was seeking the maximum sentence of 10 years. Brian, knowing not only that he had done nothing wrong but knowing that the law didn’t exist to punish innocent people, chose to take his case in front of the jury.

During the trial it became clear to everyone in the courtroom that Brian fit the exemptions of the law for moving between residences. However, the judge withheld the law from the jury, thereby ensuring a guilty verdict. Regardless, the jury returned from deliberation three times specifically requesting to be read the exemptions of the law. One can only assume that this was so they could find Brian not guilty. The judge and the prosecutor made it clear that they had no intention of allowing Brian to walk out an innocent man. They were more interested in a guilty verdict than truth and justice.

Six days later Governor Christie decided not to reappoint Judge James Morley for his misconduct in 2 other cases where Judge Morley sympathized with an off duty police officer who molested farm animals.

Brian was sentenced to 7 years in state prison even though there was no victim, no violence, and no crime. He was sentenced by Judge Haas, whose only knowledge of the case was provided by the prosecutor. Judge Haas did not preside over the case or have access to transcripts of the trial.

Gun owners and non-gun owners alike have banded together, not because this is an obvious Second Amendment issue, but because the judge so blatantly and with complete immunity withheld Brian’s right to a fair trial.

Montana Supreme Court upholds Christian speech

The Montana Supreme Court on Friday ruled 6-1 in favor of a valedictorian who was barred from mentioning God or Christ in her graduation speech.

"We find it unreasonable for the School District to conclude that Griffith’s cursory references to her personal religious beliefs could be viewed by those in attendance at the BHS (Butte School District) graduation ceremony as a religious endorsement by the School District," Justice Patricia O'Brien Cotter wrote in the opinion.The school district in Yellowstone County violated Renee Griffith's constitutional right to free speech, the high court ruled.

The decision reverses a lower court's ruling that the school district's practice of excluding expression of personal religious views in student speeches was a reasonable basis for its action against Griffith.

Griffith, one of the ten valedictorians in the class of 2008, was scheduled to deliver a speech jointly with another student at the 2008 graduation ceremony. Part of her prepared remarks included: "I didn’t let fear keep me from sharing Christ and His joy with those around me. I learned to impart hope, to encourage people to treat each day as a gift. I learned not to be known for my grades or for what I did during school, but for being committed to my faith and morals and being someone who lived with a purpose from God with a passionate love for Him."

The valedictorian was told that religious references were not permitted in graduation speeches and that she had to omit references to "God" and "Christ" in her speech. Griffith refused to do so, saying that she could not accurately convey her high school experience without mentioning these motivations for her accomplishments, actions, and life purpose.

She was offered an alternative – to change the "God" and "Christ" references to "faith."

Again, Griffith refused the changes. As a result, she was pulled from delivering the valedictory speech.

The student filed a complaint with the Montana Human Rights Bureau shortly thereafter, alleging discrimination against her on the basis of religion. The complaint was dismissed.

She then filed a complaint in the Thirteenth Judicial District, claiming that the school district violated her state and federal constitutional rights to free speech and freedom of religion. The court, however, ruled that the district's decision prohibiting Griffith from speaking did not violate the First Amendment.

She appealed.

The high court ruled that the school district violated its own written policies of non-censorship. One of the policies states that "the school administration shall not censor any presentation or require any content" and that students who are selected to speak may choose to deliver "an address, poem, reading, song, musical presentation, prayer or any other pronouncement of their choosing."

"We hold that the School District violated Griffith’s right to freedom of speech under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution when it impermissibly censored the content of her valedictory speech based on the viewpoint she expressed," the court concluded.

WASHINGTON – Is this the case that will break thepresidential eligibility question wide open?

The Supreme Court conferred today on whether arguments should be heard on the merits of Kerchner v. Obama, a case challenging whether President BarackObama is qualified to serve as president because he may not be a "natural-born citizen" as required by Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution.

Unlike other eligibility cases that have reached the Supreme Court, Kerchner vs. Obama focuses on the "Vattel theory," which argues that the writers of the Constitution believed the term "natural-born citizen" to mean a person born in the United States to parents who were both American citizens.

"This case is unprecedented," said Mario Apuzzo, the attorney bringing the suit. "I believe we presented an ironclad case. We've shown standing, and we've shown the importance of the issue for the Supreme Court. There's nothing standing in their way to grant us a writ of certiorari."

If the Supreme Court decides to grant the "writ of certiorari," it may direct a federal trial court in New Jersey to hear the merits of the case, or it may choose to hear the merits itself. The court's decision on the writ could be announced as early as Wednesday.

If any court hears the merits of the case, Apuzzo says it will mark the "death knell" for Obama's legitimacy.

"Given my research of what a natural-born citizen is, he cannot be a natural-born citizen so it's a death knell to his legitimacy. What happens on a practical level, how our political institutions would work that out, is something else," Apuzzo told WND.

Apuzzo observed it is "undisputed fact" that Obama's father was a British subject.

A hearing on the merits "is also a death knell because it would allow discovery so we would be able to ask him for his birth certificate, and we don't know what that would show," according to Apuzzo. "We might not even get to the question of defining 'natural-born citizen.' If he was not born in the U.S., he'd be undocumented, because he's never been naturalized. We don't even know what his citizenship status is. Hawaii has said they have his records, but that's hearsay. We have not seen the root documents."

Another attorney who has brought Obama eligibility cases to the Supreme Court, Philip Berg, agrees that discovery would sink Obama's presidency.

"If one court had guts enough to deal with this and allow discovery, Obama would be out of office," Berg told WND. "We would ask for a lift of Obama's ban on all of his documents. The last official report said Obama has spent $1.6 million in legal fees [keeping his papers secret], and the total is probably over $2 million now. You don't spend that kind of money unless there's something to hide, and I believe the reason he's hiding this is because he was not born in the United States."

"The Supreme Court has never decided to hear the merits of an eligibility case," Berg added. "If the Supreme Court would decide to hear a case, Obama would be out of office instantly. If Congress decided to hear a case, Obama would be out of office."

"They're taking a different approach, arguing that both parents must be citizens," Berg noted.

Apuzzo is arguing the "Vattel theory," which asserts that the term "natural-born citizen" as used in the Constitution was defined by French writer Emer de Vattel. Vattel, whose work, "The Law of Nations," was widely known and respected by the founding fathers, used the term to mean an individual born of two citizens.

According to Apuzzo, Congress and the courts have addressed the question of who can be an American citizen, for example regarding former slaves, Asian immigrants, and American Indians. However, the term "natural-born citizen" has never been altered.

"The courts and Congress have never changed the definition," said Apuzzo. "The founding fathers understood that the commander-in-chief of the armed forces needed to have two American citizens as parents so that American values would be imparted to him."

Apuzzo said the Supreme Court had clearly accepted Vattel's definition of "natural-born citizen" in "dicta," or statements made in opinions on cases addressing other matters. He cited Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall's opinion in the 1814 "Venus" case, in which Marshall endorses Vattel's definition.

Apuzzo also cites the writings of founding father David Ramsay, an influential South Carolina physician and historian who used similar language to Vattel.

Previous cases challenging Obama's eligibility have all been rejected on technical grounds. Numerous courts have decided that the plaintiffs do not have "standing" to bring a suit against Obama because they have failed to prove they are directly injured by his occupation of the Oval Office.

"To me that's false," said Berg. "The 10th Amendment refers to 'we the people.' If the people can't challenge the president's constitutionality, that would be ridiculous."

"My clients have a right to protection from an illegitimately sitting president," said Apuzzo. "Every decision he makes affects the life, property, and welfare of my clients."

Apuzzo said the founding fathers had good reason to require the president to be a natural-born citizen.

"They were making sure the President had the values from being reared from a child in the American system, and thereby would preserve everybody's life, liberty and property in the process.

"They made that decision, so my clients have every right to expect the president to be a natural-born citizen. It goes to all your basic rights, every right that is inalienable. The president has to be a natural-born citizen."

Fox News host Mike Huckabee slammed President Barack Obama's defense of the Transportation Security Administration's new intrusive pat-down screening measures at airport security checkpoints. On his website Monday, the former governor of Arkansas and potential 2012 GOP presidential candidate wrote that he disagreed with Obama's assessment that "there isn't a choice about the federal fondling and groping of the private parts of totally law-abiding citizens by government agents."

Huckabee issued a challenge to Obama to submit his family to the same "humiliating and unconstitutional electronic strip searches by machines that are making its manufacturers filthy rich and the flying public hopping mad." He wrote: "If you don't find anything wrong with these practices that presume the guilt of an American before he or she proves innocence, then I ask you to take your wife, your two daughters, and your mother-in-law to Reagan National Airport and have them go through the full body scanner, and then be subjected to the same and full body grabbing grope by the government agents that you authorized to do it. Do it in public where all can see.

SAN FRANCISCO — The California Supreme Court weighed in Monday on the politically charged immigration fray when it ruled that illegal immigrants are entitled to the same tuition breaks offered to in-state high school students to attend public colleges and universities.

Although the ruling applies only to California, the case was watched closely nationally because nine other states, including New York and Texas, have similar laws.

Republican Congressmen Lamar S. Smith of Texas and Steve King of Iowa filed a so-called friends of the court brief urging that illegal immigrants be denied the reduced rate.

The lawsuit the court considered was part of a broader legal assault led by immigration legal scholar Kris Kobach, who has filed numerous cases across the country seeking to restrict the rights of illegal immigrants.

He represented a group of U.S. students who filed the lawsuit seeking to invalidate the California law.

Kobach said he would appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court.
A unanimous state Supreme Court, led by politically conservative Justice Ming Chin, said the California provision was constitutional because U.S. residents also had access to the reduced rates.

The California Legislature passed the controversial measure in 2001 that allowed any student, regardless of immigration status, who attended a California high school for at least three years and graduated to qualify for in-state tuition at the state's colleges and universities. In-state tuition saves each state college student about $11,000 a year and each University of California student about $23,000 a year.

A state appellate court ruled in 2008 the law was unconstitutional after a group of out-of-state students who are U.S. citizens filed a lawsuit. The suit alleged the measure violated federal prohibitions barring illegal immigrants from receiving post-secondary benefits not available to U.S. citizens based on state residency.

However, the state Supreme Court noted the California law says nothing about state residency, a distinction that foes of the plan said shouldn't matter. Kobach said the federal legislation was meant to prohibit exactly what the California Supreme Court allowed for illegal immigrants on Monday.

"It presents a rather incomprehensible reading of the federal statute," Kobach said.

The Sacramento-based Pacific Legal Foundation, which supports numerous political efforts, said the spirit of federal law was to deny tuition breaks to illegal immigrants.

Foundation attorney Ralph Kasarda, who submitted a friend-of-the-court brief in the case, said California was not in sync with the federal mandate against showing favoritism to illegal immigrants.

"California's policy is also atrocious financial stewardship," he said.

The state law also requires illegal immigrants who apply for the in-state tuition to swear they will attempt to become U.S. citizens. The applicants are still barred from receiving federal financial aid.

"Through their hard work and perseverance, these students have earned the opportunity to attend UC," said University of California President Mark G. Yudof. "Their accomplishments should not be disregarded or their futures jeopardized."

Kobach also failed to invalidate a similar law in Kansas. His lawsuit in Nebraska is pending.

The law professor was the chief drafter of Arizona's tough new laws against illegal immigrants, which is pending before a federal appeals court.
He was elected this month to serve as secretary of state in Kansas.

Democratic leaders in Washington, D.C., are mulling whether to try to pass immigration reform measures before they lose control of the House of Representatives in January.

During his re-election campaign, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., promised to try to get a vote on the "DREAM Act," which would create a path to citizenship for youth living in the country illegally who attend college or join the military.

White House spokesman Luis Miranda said the administration welcomes any opportunity for Congress to take up the proposal. The legislation "is important to both our national security and our economy," Miranda said.

Meanwhile, retiring Republican Florida Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart is seeking a vote on proposed legislation giving states the option to allow illegal immigrant students to pay in-state tuition.

"Allowing undocumented students to attend primary and secondary schools but requiring that they pay out-of-state tuition for college creates an unfair financial burden," Diaz-Balart said.

School Makes Boy Take American Flag Off Bike

13-year-old Cody Alicea rides with an American flag on the back of his bike. He says he does this to be patriotic and to honor veterans, like his own grandfather, Robert. He's had the flag on his bike for two months but Monday, was told to take it down.

A school official at Denair Middle School told Cody some students had been complaining about the flag and it was no longer allowed on school property.

"In this country we're supposed to be free," said Cody. "And I should be able to wave my flag wherever I want to. And they're telling me I can't." Cody had to take the flag off his bike and put it in his backpack, where he kept it all week.

Cody's grandfather says the school was concerned about racial tensions or uprisings because of the flag. He feels if there was really a problem it should have been brought up two months ago, not during Veterans week. And if it was an issue of safety, parents should have been contacted.

"No action should be taken. We don't want any repercussion," said Roger Alicea. "We just want Cody to be proud of what he's doing." Roger says the family is not planning to take any legal action, but they do want to meet with school staff.

Cody says he wants to serve in the military some day, and is raising money for a tr\ip to Washington, D.C. in the Spring.

After being contacted by FOX40 Friday morning, Denair's Superintendent says Cody will be allowed to keep the flag on his bike. He told FOX40 he and the school are patriotic, but their main priority is keeping students safe; the school will focus on the students who are causing uprisings. Riding a bike is still not allowed on school campus, but when Cody rides his bike to school he can now fly the flag.

School Asks Students to Cover 'Straight Pride' Shirts

"While it may have been a little bit controversial at times, the kids at North are talking about this," said Jim Blaney, director of school and community relations for St. Charles Unit District 303. "They are learning about people who might have a different opinion than theirs."

Several students complained to high school administrators Monday — the first day of an anti-bullying "Ally Week" — when three students wore the T-shirts, which also quoted a Biblical passage advocating death as a punishment for homosexual activity.

Deans met with the students, and after establishing that there was no threat of physical harm to others, asked the students to cross out a portion of the Biblical passage with permanent marker.

When two different students came to school the next day wearing homemade "Straight Pride" shirts — without the Biblical passage — administrators asked them to cover up with sweatshirts.

Court: Teen Cheerleader Must Cheer to Her Alleged Rapist

A federal appeals court has ruled against a Texas teenager who was kicked off of her high school cheerleading squad for refusing to cheer against a player who she says raped her.

The 18-year-old woman, identified by her initials H.S., said a star athlete named Rakheem Bolton raped her at a party in October 2008 after others threw her into a room. Bolton and a teammate were arrested and charged with sexual assault.

However, while the case was proceeding, Bolton played in a basketball game for Silsbee High School in February 2009. When he got to the foul line, instead of cheering his name, H.S. stepped back, folded her arms, and sat down.

She said she had done the same thing at an earlier game without incident. This time, she said, she was called into a hallway at halftime, and the district superintendent, his assistant and the school principal told her she had to cheer for Bolton or go home. She chose to go home.

Her lawsuit accused school officials of discrimination by punishing H.S. and not the players. But the central allegation was that the school had violated her free speech rights -- her right to refuse to cheer.

"I didn't want to have to say his name, and I didn't want to cheer for him," H.S. said. "I didn't want to encourage anything he was doing."

But the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals didn't agree, ruling against her. "In her capacity as cheerleader, H.S. served as a mouthpiece through which (the district) could disseminate speech - namely, support for its athletic teams," the three-judge panel said in a Sept. 16 ruling.

The district "had no duty to promote H.S.'s message by allowing her to cheer or not cheer, as she saw fit," the court said. "Moreover, this act constituted substantial interference with the work of the school because, as a cheerleader, H.S. was at the basketball game for the purpose of cheering."

To add insult to injury, the Court ruled that the family must pay the school's legal fees, on the grounds that the suit was far-fetched and frivolous. The family is appealing the entire ruling.

In terms of the case, Bolton has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge -- a plea H.S. accepted because she was told a trial would not take place for at least a year.

"What I want out of the whole thing is for somebody to admit they were wrong," H.S. said. "All I wanted was for somebody to come forward and say, 'Yes, it happened.'
"

Poll shows voters are concerned about illegal immigration

In a poll conducted by The Polling Company during Tuesday's mid-term elections, the results reveal that 61% of Tuesday's voters believe that Pres. Obama has not been aggressive enough in enforcing federal immigration laws. Sixty-nine percent of respondents also said they consider immigration to be an important public policy issue. Only 4% of respondents believe that Pres. Obama is being too tough in enforcing immigration laws. Tuesday's voters also expressed support for state's playing a role in enforcing immigration laws. Fifty-three percent favor an Arizona-style law passed in their own state. While immigration was not the central issue during the mid-term elections, Tuesday's results showed a shift in the Immigration Balance of Power in Congress. More than 40 open-border incumbents were voted out of the House and replaced with candidates who support tougher immigration enforcement and oppose amnesty for the nation's 11-18 million illegal aliens. With Republicans taking over the House of Representatives, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), who supports more immigration enforcement, will now chair the House Judiciary Committee and Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) will chair the House Immigration Subcommittee.

Back in the 1960s and 1970s, there was a seemingly endless parade of pop songs about how great life was in California, and millions of young Americans dreamed of moving to the land of sandy beaches and golden sunshine. But now all of that has changed. Today, millions of Californians are dreaming about leaving the state for good. The truth is that California is broke. The economy of the state is in shambles. The official unemployment rate has been sitting above 12 percent for an extended period of time, and poverty is everywhere. For many Californians today, there are very few reasons to stay in the state but a whole lot of reasons to leave: falling housing prices, rising crime, budget cuts, rampant illegal immigration, horrific traffic, some of the most brutal tax rates in the nation, increasing gang violence and the ever present threat of wildfires, mudslides and natural disasters. The truth is that it is easy to understand why there are now more Americans moving out of California each year than there are Americans moving into the state. California has become a complete and total disaster zone in more ways than one, and an increasing number of Californians are deciding that enough is enough and they are getting out for good.

Sadly, the state of California is facing such a wide array of social, economic, and political problems that it is hard to even document them all. It is really one huge gigantic mess at this point.

Just consider the following facts about what life is like in the state of California today....

#1 Unemployment in the state of California was 12.4% in September - one of the highest rates in the nation.

#2 The number of people unemployed in the state of California is approximately equivalent to the populations of Nevada, New Hampshire and Vermont combined.

#3 Not even state government jobs are safe in California these days. Last month, government agencies in California slashed a total of 37,300 jobs.

#4 California has the third highest state income tax in the nation: a 9.55% tax bracket at $47,055 and a 10.55% bracket at $1,000,000.

#5 California has the highest state sales tax rate in the nation by far at 8.25%. Indiana has the next highest at 7%.

#6 Residents of California pay the highest gasoline taxes (over 67 cents per gallon) in the United States.

#7 Even with all of the taxes, the budget deficit for the California state government for the current year is approximately 19 billion dollars.

#8 According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, California's unfunded pension liability is estimated to be somewhere between $120 billion and $500 billion.

#9 20 percent of the residents of Los Angeles County are now receiving public aid.

#10 Budget cuts are making life very difficult in many California cities. For example, Oakland, California Police Chief Anthony Batts says that due to severe budget cuts there are a number of crimes that his department will simply not be able to respond to any longer. The crimes that the Oakland police will no longer be responding to include grand theft, burglary, car wrecks, identity theft and vandalism.

Things have gotten so bad in Stockton, California that the police union put up a billboard with the following message: "Welcome to the 2nd most dangerous city in California. Stop laying off cops."

#11 According to one survey, approximately 1 in 4 Californians under the age of 65 had absolutely no health insurance last year.

#12 California's poverty rate soared to 15.3 percent in 2009, which was the highest in 11 years.

#13 California's overstretched health care system is also on the verge of collapse. Dozens of California hospitals and emergency rooms have shut down over the last decade because they could not afford to stay open after being endlessly swamped by illegal immigrants and poor Californians who were simply not able to pay for the services they were receiving. As a result, the remainder of the health care system in the state of California is now beyond overloaded. This had led to brutally long waits, diverted ambulances and even unnecessary patient deaths.

#14 California home builders began construction on 1,811 homes during the month of August, which was down 77% from August 2006.

#15 Earlier this year, it was reported that in the area around Sacramento, California there was one closed business for every six that were still open.

#16 The "lawsuit climate" in California is ranked number 46 out of all 50 states.

#17 Residents of California pay some of the highest electricity prices in the entire nation.

#18 Over 20 percent of California homeowners are now underwater on their mortgages.

#19 Large tent cities have been springing up all over the state of California.

So why doesn't the state government of California just fix many of these problems? Well, the truth is that it simply cannot. The state government is flat broke. Earlier this year, Bob Herbert of the New York Times described California's massive budget problems this way....

California has cut billions of dollars from its education system, including its renowned network of public colleges and universities. Many thousands of teachers have been let go. Budget officials travel the state with a glazed look in their eyes, having tried everything they can think of to balance the state budget. And still the deficits persist.

So is there any hope that all this can be turned around?

Is there any hope that the economy of California will recover?

Or will California continue to experience a rapid decline?

Mexico to Build Southern Border Fence

Mexico, which often criticizes the American government for putting up barriers which restrict the flow of illegal immigrants across the U.S. - Mexico border is building a fence of its own along its southern border with Guatemala.

It has been reported that the head of the Mexican Superintendency of Tax Administration, Raul Diaz, confirmed that the Mexican government is building a wall along the Mexican - Guatemalan border. Diaz stated the official reason for building the border wall is to stop illegal drugs from coming into Mexico, but Diaz did admit that it could also prevent the free passage of illegal immigrants.

The hypocrisy of Mexico's actions has not been lost on American politicians. Last week, Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) said on the house floor:

Mr. POE of Texas. Mr. Speaker, in spite of objections to the contrary, a fence is still being built along the southern border. Illegals objected to this but the President is resilient. He is standing firm on his commitment to build the fence to keep illegals out.
You see, over 500,000 illegals cross the border every year into Mexico, and the fence is being built at the southern end of Mexico to keep people like Guatemalans out. It's the Mexican southern border that they're protecting.
You know, Calderon demands that the United States not build a fence. He arrogantly demands the Arizona law not be enforced, but when Mexico has problems with illegals coming to "take jobs that Mexicans won't do," Calderon says he's building a fence on his southern border, whether illegals like it or not.
Every country has the right to defend its border. We should stop listening to anything President Calderon says and do what's right for our country.

One is “debt held by the public,” which includes U.S. government securities owned by individuals, corporations, state or local governments, foreign governments and other entities outside the federal government itself. The other is “intragovernmental” debt, which includes I.O.U.s the federal government gives to itself when, for example, the Treasury borrows money out of the Social Security “trust fund” to pay for expenses other than Social Security.At the end of fiscal year 1989, which ended eight months after President Reagan left office, the total federal debt held by the public was $2.1907 trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office. That means all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Ronald Reagan had accumulated only that much publicly held debt on behalf of American taxpayers. That is $335.3 billion less than the $2.5260 trillion that was added to the federal debt held by the public just between Jan. 20, 2009, when President Obama was inaugurated, and Aug. 20, 2010, the 19-month anniversary of Obama's inauguration. By contrast, President Reagan was sworn into office on Jan. 20, 1981 and left office eight years later on Jan. 20, 1989. At the end of fiscal 1980, four months before Reagan was inaugurated, the federal debt held by the public was $711.9 billion, according to CBO. At the end of fiscal 1989, eight months after Reagan left office, the federal debt held by the public was $2.1907 trillion. That means that in the nine-fiscal-year period of 1980-89--which included all of Reagan’s eight years in office--the federal debt held by the public increased $1.4788 trillion. That is in excess of a trillion dollars less than the $2.5260 increase in the debt held by the public during Obama’s first 19 months.

When President Barack Obama took the oath of office on Jan. 20, 2009, the total federal debt held by the public stood at 6.3073 trillion, according to the Bureau of the Public Debt, a division of the U.S. Treasury Department. As of Aug. 20, 2010, after the first nineteen months of President Obama’s 48-month term, the total federal debt held by the public had grown to a total of $8.8333 trillion, an increase of $2.5260 trillion. In just the last four months (May through August), according to the CBO, the Obama administration has run cumulative deficits of $464 billion, more than the $458 billion deficit the Bush administration ran through the entirety of fiscal 2008.

The CBO predicted this week that the annual budget deficit for fiscal 2010, which ends on the last day of this month, will exceed $1.3 trillion.The first two fiscal years in which Obama has served will see the two biggest federal deficits as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product since the end of World War II. “CBO currently estimates that the deficit for 2010 will be about $70 billion below last year’s total but will still exceed $1.3 trillion,” said the CBO’s monthly budget review for September, which was released yesterday. “Relative to the size of the economy, this year’s deficit is expected to be the second-largest shortfall in the past 65 years: At 9.1 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), that deficit will be exceeded only by last year’s deficit of 9.9 percent of GDP.”

Liberal journalists like Arianna Huffington and Chris Mathews like to dismiss the idea of Mexican drug cartels taking over ranches and extensive swathes of US territory in Arizona and Texas. The liberals tell us that was all just right-wing paranoia ginned up by the Tea Party. So what on earth are we to make of the following story?

The Washington Times reports: “The federal government has posted signs along a major interstate highway in Arizona, more than 100 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, warning travelers the area is unsafe because of drug and alien smugglers, and a local sheriff says Mexican drug cartels now control some parts of the state. The signs were posted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) along a 60-mile stretch of Interstate 8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend, a major east-west corridor linking Tucson and Phoenix with San Diego. They warn travelers that they are entering an ‘active drug and human smuggling area’ and they may encounter ‘armed criminals and smuggling vehicles traveling at high rates of speed.’ Beginning less than 50 miles south of Phoenix, the signs encourage travelers to use public lands north of Interstate 8 and to call 911 if they see suspicious activity.”

Most Americans, who enjoy the great outdoors, have been increasingly worried about accidentally walking into a marijuana plantation in a national forest, where they might step on a booby trap or get shotgunned by the illegal pot growers. Well, now we get to worry about running into the Mexican drug cartel psychos who kill people by the dozen and chop heads off as grizzly calling cards south of the border because many of them are coming north of the border.

The Times goes on: “Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, whose county lies at the center of major drug and alien smuggling routes to Phoenix and cities east and west, attests to the violence. He said his deputies are outmanned and outgunned by drug traffickers in the rough-hewn desert stretches of his own county. ‘Mexican drug cartels literally do control parts of Arizona,’ he said. ‘They literally have scouts on the high points in the mountains and in the hills and they literally control movement. They have radios, they have optics, they have night-vision goggles as good as anything law enforcement has. This is going on here in Arizona,’ he said. ‘This is 70 to 80 miles from the border – 30 miles from the fifth-largest city in the United States.’ He said he asked the Obama administration for 3,000 National Guard soldiers to patrol the border, but what he got were 15 signs.”

So Obama deals with dangerous drug gangs coming north of the border by putting up signs warning Americans to stay out of the areas, that they have taken over.

Looks like this isn’t just Glenn Beck trying to rabble-rouse the wicked racist Tea Partiers after all. Looks like years of government complicity in allowing drugs and illegal aliens to come across parts of the Arizona border virtually unchallenged has resulted in the defacto surrender of parts of Arizona to Mexican criminals.

Back in 1916 when Pancho Villa crossed the US border and actually attacked the town of Columbus, New Mexico, President Woodrow Wilson (a Democrat and hardly a right-wing extremist) sent the United States Army under General “Black Jack” Pershing into Mexico to clean the banditos out. Today, both political parties are far too gutless to even finish building a fence, let alone drive out Mexican drug gang criminals from US soil.

The Home Depot is so proud of its support for homosexuality that the company mascot was on hand to promote the company’s endorsement at a recent Chicago parade.

Same-sex "weddings" in California are on hold indefinitely after a federal appeals court blocked them while it considers the constitutionality of the state's ban on homosexual unions. (Story from Associated Press appears below)

U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn Walker, a practicing homosexual, ruled earlier this month against Proposition 8, which was approved in November 2008 by California voters to protect traditional marriage. He also ordered homosexual marriages to resume August 18, pending appeals. But Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) attorney Daniel Blomberg tells OneNewsNow that the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has issued a stay against implementation.

"And of course it made no sense to impose a radical change in marriage on the people of California before all the appeals were heard on their behalf," says the attorney. "So the Ninth Circuit's decision is really the right call here."

According to Blomberg, that is the decision that should have come from the lower court. "Refusing to stay the decision only created more legal confusion surrounding any sort of unions that would have been created while the appeal was pending," he explains, "so the Ninth Circuit clearly made the right call.

"This case has just begun, and ADF and the rest of the legal team are confident the right of Americans to protect marriage in their state constitutions will ultimately be upheld."

Blomberg adds that if the Ninth Circuit does not uphold the right of seven-million Californians to amend their constitution to protect marriage, then the case will be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

SAN FRANCISCO - Same-sex "weddings" in California are on hold indefinitely after a federal appeals court blocked them while it considers the constitutionality of the state's ban on homosexual unions.

The decision, issued Monday by a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, trumps Judge Vaughn Walker's order that would have allowed same-gender marriages to begin on Wednesday.

Walker had previously ruled that the ban, known as Proposition 8, violated the constitutional rights of homosexuals, who he said should not face discrimination based on "moral and religious views." The ban's sponsors appealed that ruling and also asked the 9th Circuit to block same-sex weddings in the meantime. They claimed in papers filed with the 9th Circuit that homosexual marriages would harm the state's interest in promoting responsible procreation through heterosexual marriage.

The appeals court won't take up the case until December, but ordered Proposition 8 sponsors to address in their opening brief due September 17 whether they have standing to try to have Walker's ruling overturned. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and California Attorney General Jerry Brown, the original defendants in the case, support same-sex marriage and have refused to defend Proposition 8 in court.

Under the timetable laid out Monday, it was doubtful a decision would come down from the 9th Circuit before next year. A different three-judge panel than the one that issued Monday's decision will be assigned to decide the constitutional question that many believe will eventually end up before the Supreme Court. Arizona Sheriff: 'Our Own Government Has Become Our Enemy'

(CNSNews.com) – Pinal County (Ariz.) Sheriff Paul Babeu is hopping mad at the federal government.

Babeu told CNSNews.com that rather than help law enforcement in Arizona stop the hundreds of thousands of people who come into the United States illegally, the federal government is targeting the state and its law enforcement personnel.

“What’s very troubling is the fact that at a time when we in law enforcement and our state need help from the federal government, instead of sending help they put up billboard-size signs warning our citizens to stay out of the desert in my county because of dangerous drug and human smuggling and weapons and bandits and all these other things and then, behind that, they drag us into court with the ACLU,” Babeu said.

The sheriff was referring to the law suits filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and the U.S. Department of Justice challenging the state’s new immigration law.

“So who has partnered with the ACLU?” Babeu said in a telephone interview with CNSNews.com. “It’s the president and (Attorney General) Eric Holder himself. And that’s simply outrageous.”

Last week, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton placed a temporary injunction on portions of the bill that allowed law enforcement personnel during the course of a criminal investigation who have probable cause to think an individual is in the country illegally to check immigration status. The state of Arizona filed an appeal on Thursday with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

“Our own government has become our enemy and is taking us to court at a time when we need help,” Babeu said.

Babeu and Sheriff Larry Dever of Cochise County Ariz., spoke by phone with CNSNews.com last week about the May 17 ACLU class-action lawsuit, which charges the law uses racial profiling and named the county attorneys and sheriffs in all 15 Arizona counties as defendants. The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit on July 6, charging the Arizona law preempted the federal government’s sole right to enforce immigration law.

“If the president would do his job and secure the border; send 3,000 armed soldiers to the Arizona border and stop the illegal immigration and the drug smuggling and the violence, we wouldn’t even be in this position and where we’re forced to take matters into our own hands,” Babeu said.
Dever said the federal government’s failure to secure the border and its current thwarting of Arizona’s effort to control illegal immigration within its borders has implications for the entire country.

“The bigger picture is while what’s going on in Arizona is critically important, what comes out of this and happens here will affect our entire nation in terms of our ability to protect our citizenry from a very serious homeland security threat,” Dever said. “People who are coming across the border in my county aren’t staying there. They’re going everywhere USA and a lot of them are bad, bad people.”

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), about 250,000 people were detained in Arizona in the last 12 months for being in the country illegally. Babeu said that that number only reflects the number of people detained and that thousands more enter the country illegally each year.

The CBP also reports that 17 percent of those detained already have a criminal record in the United States.

Both Babeu and Dever said they want to remain involved in the legal battle over the law, which many experts predict will end up being decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Dever has hired an independent attorney to represent him in the ACLU case and his attorney has already filed a motion of intervention in the DOJ lawsuit so the “(Dever) will have a seat at the table.”

A Web site also has been launched by the non-profit, Iowa-based Legacy Foundation to raise money for the Babeu’s and Dever’s legal defense.

Both men said they believe the outcome of the case has national significance.“For us, this is a public safety matter and a national security threat,” Babeu said.

Judge guts immigration law, sides with illegals

An immigration enforcement activist is outraged that a federal judge has caved to president Obama and illegal alien supporters in halting the implementation of most of Arizona's border enforcement law that will take effect tomorrow.

In a decision made earlier today, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton gutted most of Arizona's immigration law by blocking its most controversial sections. The measure still takes effect Thursday, but it will do so without the provision requiring police to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws. Bolton also nullified the requirement that immigrants carry their papers at all times and the section which bars illegals from soliciting employment in public places.

William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC), says it is hard to find words to express the anger and dismay this decision brings.

"This judge is obviously part of the same cabal as McCain and Obama, [who] want to take sides with illegal immigrants against American citizens," Gheen contends. "My main message to the country today is for people to stay calm, get politically involved and make every special interest politician and business leader that's responsible for this invasion of our nation pay in the approaching elections."

The ALIPAC president believes "the American government, Barack Obama [and] this judge just sided with illegal aliens against American citizens," and he concludes that the will of the American people has been usurped by this decision.

Arizona Governor blasts Phoenix Suns owner

An immigration reform activist says Arizona Governor Jan Brewer hit the nail on the head recently when she called the owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team to task for his opposition to the state's tough immigration enforcement bill.

Governor Jan Brewer has been attacked from various groups inside and outside her state for boldly standing up for SB 1070, which is scheduled to take effect on Thursday (July 29) but is facing court challenges from the Obama administration and the American Civil Liberties Union.

Among those who have criticized the bill is Robert Sarver, the owner of the NBA's Phoenix Suns. In a May 2010 interview with ESPN, Sarver said the law calls into question "our basic principles of equal rights and protection under the law" and will cause Arizona's economy to suffer setbacks at a time when the state is already in economic distress.

But Governor Brewer recently crafted a response to the basketball mogul, asking him what would happen if (1) hordes of gate-crashers sneaked into Suns' games without paying and (2) the team could not ask for ticket stubs but would have to provide those people free food and drinks at the game and even be forced to provide free medical care if they were injured at the game.

Ira Mehlman of the Federation for American Immigration Reform says the governor was right on the money.

"It's a perfect metaphor for what has been taking place in this country for a long, long time," he remarks. "If this was happening to a private enterprise like the Phoenix Suns, the ownership simply wouldn't tolerate it -- and for very good reason: it is money out of their own pockets."

"...There is no reason why we as a nation should be treated any differently than Mr. Sarver is in his money-making enterprise," Mehlman concludes.

The National Basketball Association is made up of 30 franchises. In December 2009 the Suns were ranked as the ninth most-valuable team with a value of $429 million. Sarver himself is among the wealthiest individuals who live in San Diego.

Arizona judge hearing immigration law case

An immigration reform activist is encouraged that the federal judge hearing challenges to Arizona's immigration law has raised the realities of what's happening in the state because of out-of-control illegal immigration there.

U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton has not indicated whether she will put the law on hold before it takes effect later this week, but asAssociated Press notes, she did go beyond "dry legal analysis" at court hearings on Thursday to point out some of the everyday realities of illegal immigration and how they apply to the new law.

The judge noted that the federal government erected signs in a wilderness area south of Phoenix that warn visitors about illegal aliens and drug smugglers passing through public lands. She also regarded the stash houses where smugglers hide illegals before bringing them into the country's interior as a fixture on the news in Arizona. (See earlier article)

"It would seem just from the questions that she is asking that unfortunately for the advocates for the illegal aliens in the Obama administration, they got stuck with a judge who actually lives in Arizona," observes Ira Mehlman, spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

"She is aware of what is going on in Arizona," he continues. "She lives with it every single day, just as everybody else in Arizona is living with it. And that is precisely why the vast majority of people in Arizona support this law because they do recognize that it's having an impact on their lives, on their security, on their tax dollars, [and] on everything that's important to them." Mehlman concludes that it is "impossible to ignore the realities that exist."

While the FAIR spokesman is encouraged by the judge's comments, he is hesitant to predict how she will ultimately rule.

The Obama administration's lawsuit against Arizona, officially unveiled on Tuesday,

is an affront to all law-abiding Americans. It is a threatening salvo aimed at all local,

county or state governments that dare to take control of the immigration chaos

in their own backyards. And it is being driven by open-borders extremists who have

dedicated their political careers to subverting homeland security policies in the

name of compassion and diversity.The Justice Department's Civil Rights Division,

headed by Assistant Attorney General Thomas E. Perez, took the lead in prepping

the legal brief against Arizona. The son of immigrants from the Dominican Republic,

Perez is a far-left lawyer and activist who worked for the late mass illegal alien

amnesty champion Ted Kennedy and served in the Clinton administration DOJ.

While holding down a key government position there in which he was entrusted

to Perez rose from CASA de Maryland volunteer to president of the group's board of directors

Under the guise of enhancing the "multicultural" experience, he crusaded for an

ever-expanding set of illegal alien benefits ranging from in-state tuition discounts

for illegal alien students to driver's licenses. CASA de Maryland opposes enforcement

of deportation orders, has protested post-9/11 coordination of local, state and national

criminal databases, and produced a "know your rights" propaganda pamphlet for illegal

aliens depicting federal immigration agents as armed bullies making babies cry.

In 2006, CASA de Maryland threatened to protest at the schools of children whose

parents belonged to the pro-immigration enforcement group Minuteman Project --

and then headed into the Montgomery County, Md., public schools to recruit junior

amnesty protesters who were offered school credits for traveling with CASA de

Maryland to march on Washington.

As a former Maryland resident, I got to see Perez's militant friends and colleagues in

action. I watched CASA de Maryland President Gustavo Torres (who met with

President Obama last week) complain that motor vehicle administration officials

have "absolutely no right to ask for people's Social Security number or immigration

status to get a driver's license." I stood among CASA de Maryland grievance-mongers

who shouted, "No license, no justice! No justice, no peace!" while playing the race

card against naturalized Americans and legal immigrants who opposed the illegal

alien welfare state.

Perez himself derided secure-borders citizen activists as "xenophobes," but denied

painting the grassroots immigration enforcement movement as racist. Questioned by

GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions during his Obama DOJ confirmation hearing last year about

the illegal alien rights guide produced by CASA de Maryland, Perez grudgingly

to Arizona's valid enforcement actions of our federal immigration law.

Perez, Attorney General Eric Holder and the rest of the open-borders DOJ team

have invoked a "preemption" doctrine based on the U.S. Constitution's supremacy

clause to attack Arizona's anti-illegal immigration measure and oppose local and

state enforcement of federal immigration laws. Never mind that the Arizona law

was drafted scrupulously to comply with all federal statutes and the Constitution.

You gotta love Obama's fair-weather friends of the Constitution. When a state acts to

do the job the feds won't do, Obama's legal eagles run to the Founding Fathers for

protection. When, on the other hand, left-wing cities across the country pass illegal

alien sanctuary policies that flagrantly defy national immigration laws and hamper

cross-jurisdiction enforcement, the newfound federal preemption advocates are nowhere in sight.

Pres. Obama's speech tomorrow will call for an Amnesty for the nation's 11-18 million illegal aliens. The new White House strategy is to place blame on Republicans who are demanding increased border security before considering an Amnesty." Obama knows that he will have a hard time getting amnesty through Congress, so he will try other alternative ways to grant amnesty. No longer do we have a president that is looking out for White America, but instead we have a forgery president that is trying to do everything he can to increase the non-white population in order to make America a non-White nation.
